I gave him an A on the trades. He got good value especially the Pommer trade where many league wide are saying he got a kings ransom. Considered into my grade was the fact that he made moves at all so I factored that into my opinion. Sat on his hands all year while we floundered. Much like last year. Coulda,shoulda,woulda...

All I can say in reply to this is Vanek has been a warrior for this franchise and sure he's missed games but he takes a boatload of abuse. I still believe you have to get maximum return and trade him for picks and or prospects when the time is right. He'll sign elsewhere otherwise. No extension for Thomas please.

Imo these late season runs are actually just 1 more character flaw in a Darcy Regier team. Play like this all season dammit !

Dammit. These guys can't even get losing right. This run will continue if Jersey plays like they have been and the Sabres continue to play sound defensive hockey. I've grown to like the thought of a top 3 pick developing in the Sabres system but I think its a pipe dream now as I get the feeling these guys are finally showing some pride and seem to want to prove everyone including management wrong. As always, GO SABRES !

He does come across as a guy that can't handle too much adversity. I respect him for his ability but he does come across as a whiney little biatch.

I've seen no reason to demote RR. In fact one could argue he's done more with less and imo the games are actually more entertaining. There have been stinkers as well but I like this hockey where you spend more time in the opposing zone than your own zone. This year pre RR we seemed to be hemmed in all the time.

Now that we're officially into the rebuild phase with 11 games left and virtually no chance of advancing in the playoffs ( if we sneak in ) I see no reason to feel bad about hoping we continue the slide. Thinking otherwise at this point is counterproductive to our future success . The highest pick possible through our own suckitude or by moving up in the draft through trade is now the goal. That being said... As always, GO SABRES !

I'm fine with keeping RR. He has a history coaching kids and is regarded as a teacher by people who know him. Torts would ruin young prospects in my mind. The guy is a nut. There are more out there that would do as well as RR, or as bad depending on the product.

I'm at peace with the whole rebuild/retool thing. I really haven't liked the on ice product the last few years anyways. I never got the sense that we were ever close to being a contender and can't really remember a time when people in the industry ever really took this team seriously. That folks is certainly how it felt to me. Starting over brings a renewed sense of hope and excitement about the possibility of doing it right this time.

Not sure about another teams buyout. A buyout will happen for all the wrong reasons. But who knows ?
