  1. I voted No. The longer it takes him to come back up the more guys will pass him up on the depth chart for callups. Guys they want to give looks to such as Rodrigues or even give some time to Nylander. By next season he'll be 27 and he won't have much more opportunities.
  2. He's 18. Way too early to tell one way or the other. His brother William is highly rated by everyone and it took him three years after his draft year to become a regular in the NHL and he took a different route then Alex (played mens hockey in Sweden vs. Canadian juniors). I think Alex Nylander will be just fine.
  3. Florentino and Providence plays at RIT this weekend. Providence beat RIT 5-1 tonight (Florentino 2 assists) and they'll play again Saturday at 7pm.
  4. Here is a article from the hockey news, speculating who may be hired for Las Vegas as coach. Keefe is mentioned as you said, he's a hot coaching name. Another interesting name is Travis Green. Green got close to getting the Ducks and Aves jobs. http://www.thehockeynews.com/news/article/five-coaching-candidates-for-the-las-vegas-expansion-team Not mentioned- Bob Boughner. Think he'd get a look too.

  6. @ Woods-racer - I doubt they're taking Grant out of the lineup. He's been a okay 4th liner and one of the teams better penalty killers.
  7. Im not saying Carrier has lit the world on fire bc he hasn't, but his overall play (winning pucks along the boards, backcheck, net presence) has been very beneficial to the team. Would be a shame for Carrier to lose his spot to Nic D right now IMO.
  8. D-men Vojtech Budik named to Czech Republic WJC squad.
  9. Unless theres any setbacks, he will begin practicing with the Amerks right after Christmas.
  10. Asplund is a very impressive prospect. Had a great development camp here and several analysts i've read over the summer think he'll be the steal of the draft.
  11. If this were facebook, i'd "Like" your post. lol 35' mostly cloudy.
  12. Murray took a costly risk to acquire Lehner, and i still think he believes in him. But, i don't think Murray is married to him because he spend a first round pick on him. Martin Biron over the summer mentioned on radio he heard Murray had inquired about Ben Bishop. So if Lehner struggles, i don't think it'll be long before Murray starts looking at other options.
  13. Nilsson has received better goal support then Lehner so far and Nilsson has struggled some on the PK. Nilsson .851 save % compared to .886 % for Lehner. Not sure he can keep it up, but I think Nilsson has earned more playing time but I don't think Lehner has really been the problem either.
  14. Good catch, i was typing from my cell phone and forgot the word "not". I'm sorry for the confusion. (Not old school style- should have read)
  15. Gmtm is on the cutting edge with advanced stats and zone starts, old school hockey style. I just think Murray would prefer a hockey "nerd" to coach the team then the old school approach. Puck possession and all that.
  16. I like Gerald Gallant but he's almost like a Ted Nolan in terms of coaching style. Can't imagine gmtm is looking for that kind of coach.
  17. Bruce Garrioch quotes league sources to say Dan Bylsma is on the hot seat.
  18. Cool, which ever details you guys decide on I will be there. This seems too good to pass up. I will just sit in my season ticket seat though but will be there for the pre and post stuff. :)
  19. I don't think so. The defense is a absolute joke. Nelson is a disaster. Franson and Gorges are closer to being next to Carlo Colaiacovo then to impact players. Bogosian hasn't been consistent enough either. Kulikov is a nice addition, but the problem with getting too excited about adding him is we lost a pretty decent defensman in Pysyk in the process. I'm not sure what Murray can do, though. I wouldn't trade Nylander for a Fowler though. Next years draft is looking like it lacks d-men, if that continues to be the theory, i wouldn't be too opposed to trading the first round pick for some d-men. It's not that we need d-men right now to compete, we need a overhaul on defense if we ever want to win. This time next year, we'll have Guhle and Anthony Florentino at our disposal, unless Florentino pulls a Vesey on us. So, some help is on the way through the farm, atleast.
  20. Mike Richards supposedly is in the best shape of his life.
  21. Its interesting that they gave him #4. The number was retired in Edmonton for Kevin Lowe until Hall arrived, and they unretired it for him.
  22. I have no problem, i was just curious. I had missed the topic though, sorry i should have looked back before posting. I just think one goalie gives less strategy and allows for more luck. But i'm okay with what the league wants and will plan accordingly! Can't believe this is our 8th season playing in Gold.
  23. One goalie? Gold has always had two.
  24. No matter what those results are, it's fair to say his preseason playing time is over.
