Outstanding. Also: my guess is broken ribs.

Just so we're clear: this is why it's necessary to keep pants on and not start the GDT until after midnight. ESPECIALLY for the MFing opener. What a poop show that was.

Get some exercise. 60 minutes of sweating will solve just about any problem. Satisfaction guaranteed.

I think I too am going to jersey up tonight in the man-cave.
-
My bottom line: if we can have him back, "full go" (as Lindy would say), in 2 months, I'll be happy and still reasonably optimistic about making the playoffs.
-
I wouldn't go that far, but IMHO The Ringer isn't nearly as good as Grantland was (admittedly a very high standard). Eeeeeeeeesssshhh. That means ROR's back is still pretty problematic.
-
Interesting. To me, those lines say: - DDB thinks Gionta has lost a step - Larsson has earned a shot at a bigger offensive role - Fasching has earned a shot at a reasonable amount of ice time - Kane looks potent - Moulson has earned his way out of the basement (but not yet to the penthouse). Game on.

Grant on the PP, eh? I guess Matt Ellis was unavailable.

OK -- rust probably wasn't the right word... ...and JSB has beaten me to it, both with a better description of the Risto/Kuli factor and with an incisive observation about the last dozen or so posts here.
-
Well, I'm glad the Risto contract hysteria has found a new home. Kulikov and Risto both missed a lot of camp. It's entirely logical to keep Risto with his partner from last year and to shelter Kulikov until both of them scrape off the rust.

I freaking love Thurman Thomas. Thurman Thomas @thurmanthomas 2h2 hours ago Next man up... #Sabres Thurman Thomas @thurmanthomas Oct 11 Attending about 20/25 #Sabres games this season... #Playoffs...

I said the contract would be 4 years or fewer; you and TB said longer than 4.
-
TB: what did we bet again? Never mind -- just found it. Looks like I'm in for $25 to the charity of your choice, plus the same to qwk. And I just did my taxes!

What does "go the distance" with Guhle mean? 9 games, or indefinite?
-
BTW: Was Dareus the portly gentleman on the sideline in a black tank top? If so, he sure doesn't look like he spent his 4 weeks off getting in shape -- which is consistent with an immediate hamstring injury.
-
Again -- Anaheim isn't taking on an expensive contact in any trade.
-
TT looked good in the first half and lousy in the 2nd IMHO. That game certainly didn't make me want to commit $40MM or whatever it is to him after this year. OTOH, he didn't turn it over, like the other QB did, and he did enough to get out of a road game against a creditable opponent with a win. Gilmore sure doesn't look like a top 5 CB and probably not top 10. McCoy looks terrific. Whaley did indeed do a great job bringing in these LBs -- although did any of them previously play for Rex? Pretty cool that Nickell made the play of the game in his college home stadium. That was a pretty good win. They need to win the next 2 for me to really be all in, but the season is interesting again.

Will GMTM make any moves, big or small, before the season starts?

Anaheim needs to cut salary. They aren't going to take Foligno and his $2.25MM deal. -

I keep going through the process of elimination and I can't escape the conclusion that the Sabres aren't going to get Fowler (or Lindholm) without giving up Nylander. It has to be a really good player, or a young player that looks like he's likely to develop into a really good player. And that really good/potentially really good player has to be inexpensive. I think that means McCabe, Reinhart or Nylander. I don't think the Sabres are going to part with Reinhart, and I don't think Anaheim wants a defenseman -- so that leaves Nylander. -

Well, Anaheim waived Clayton Stoner (who only dressed for 1 of their 7 playoff games last season) today, no doubt hoping someone would take his $3.25MM off their hands. If no one picks him up, they are going to need to figure out something else in order to sign Lindholm -- like maybe trading Fowler. Hello GMTM. Is Fowler worth Nylander? -
