I like Ehrhoff but if he gets moved for another first I won't miss him.

I can't wait for draft day I think Murray has some players he wants and will move up to get them. Draft day can't come fast enough!

I don't like the system we have now. You look at the most balanced league which is the NFL and the last place team picks first no lottery. Not many teams are in the business of tanking on purpose unless their GM guts the team. Too much pride in players to tank. Just like the Cavs shouldn't be picking first again. The league can manipulate where certain players could go.

Why do I feel that all this negative criticism against Vanek will sink into him making him better. Let's face it the guy has talent but it's his work ethic that u have to question. I still feel he signs with the Wild and I just have this strange feeling he's going to have a big year. His Family being there and his best buddy Pom's.

Buffalo should say if Ekblad doesn't get picked by Florida they will take him making Edmonton all worried and consider moving up.

I think Buffalo will stay at 2 but move two of those seconds to get another player they want in the first. Now refresh my memory I know we have the Islanders first next year but don't we have their second as well?

Boyle even though he is up there in age can still move and move pretty well.

And so it begins the Islanders have a ton of cap space and are at least trying to fill spots of weakness. We won't be picking in the top ten next year. Mark my words on it!

I'm torn because we really need offense cause I don't want to end up like Nasville before with great defense, great goaltending but no offense. This team defense would be unbelievable if you add Ekblad to it problem is who is gonna score. This is already the teams biggest issue and we lack offensive depth in the system. Me personally I like Reinhart. Playmaking center who is just solid in all aspects of the game.

I'm also on the Reinhart boat. From what I seen of him he's just a really good player who makes the players around him better. Bennett might have a higher ceiling but right now Reinhart seems solid to me and we can't afford misses in these next two drafts. But like I said before in previous posts this rebuild is going to take at least 3-5 years before we see playoffs and that's why I'm leaning more towards 5. This draft doesn't have elite talent like last years and this franchise is setting themselves up on not rushing these players.

I have to agree. But in all fairness I don't care if the kid was a workout freak if it doesn't translate on the ice. U can workout and be super physically fit but if u can't play then u can't play. Not defending the kid but Kane doesn't look he is this super workout guy. Kane's other assets set him apart from other bigger stronger players. Obviously this is an eye opener for the kid and for whatever team drafts him.

I still think he lands in Buffalo at some point before the end of his career. He is a big game player. Almost every big goal in the two cups they won he has played major roles in. The last two games when they needed him to step up he has carried the hawks.

I don't know about the rest of you guys but I want players who can skate and have skill and the drive to get better. I'm not sold on the german as I would much rather have either one of the Sams. From what I seen with Reinhart in the prospects game he looks solid all around but not flashy. It would have been nice to see Bennett in that game but if his intensity is Gilmour like than what's not to like about the kid. You have to think Colorado is going to be this up and coming team in the years to come and if you look at there big 3 we don't have anything that comes close to that.

I think if Murray has a player he wants he going to make that move even if he has to overpay. He did it with Fasching and don't be surprised to see him do it again

I wouldn't be surprised if Murray trades Stafford, Stewart, or Ehrhoff if he wants to move up for the player of his liking or moves any of them at trade deadline.

I don't think Orpik is going to a last place team. If you want to pay Callahan over 5 million a season which I don't think he's worth considering all the injuries he has already had. I could see bring back Ott for a leadership role but I see guys getting signed for cheap. Why try to improve that much when this is the key draft year. I agree that's why I hope Murray stands pat this year. After the 2015 draft then we can sign some key free agents.

I think Buffalo will have picks in 2015 1 in the top 3, 1 in the teens( islanders pick),and 1 in the 20's( Blues Pick). I see Murray moving Stewart and maybe Ehroff at draft time or trade deadline for more picks or to move up but I'm thinking to move up.

I agree. I don't know why people think just because Snow is the GM that they will be bad. They have a lot of young talent coming and I expect their goaltending to be better. They the Islanders have lots of cap space and could make more moves. Snow isn't just going to sit there and say yeah we will be bad and give Buffalo a solid shot at McDavid. Not happening folks! Only way they are bad if this team gets decimated by injuries.

I'm with but like I said in a previous post I think their pick will be in the teens.

I hope I'm wrong but I think they will be better than most people expect.

I posted this same message in the 2015 draft post I'm hoping we have another bottom 2 finish. This franchise and fan base need a guy like McDavid or Eichel in the worst possible way. I said it awhile back that the Islanders wouldn't give us that 2014 pick not being in the top 5 plus I'm thinking they will try to do something to get Sam Reinhart that way they have 2 of the 3 brothers on their team. I see the Islanders pick being 8-14 but more towards the teens. They have a lot of young talent and if Strome can be better which I'm sure he will this team could be in wildcard contention. It all depends how and when Tavares comes back and how good he will be plus the state of their defense and goaltending. I'm not that excited about the Islanders pick anymore as I think Garth Snow is going to do everything in his power to make sure we don't have a top 5 pick.
