    Now if your GM Murray and both of the defenseman are off the board besides the Russian defenseman. Do you think Murray picks him as it doesn't seem like he is big on Russians. I'm hoping the Finnish d-man is there when we pick but I highly doubt it. Who do you guys think we grab or do you think Murray gets creative and moves up a few spots.

    I'm a fan of Laine and the other two Finns. Laine is going to make Toronto think big time.

    I'm high on Matthews, Tkachuck and all 3 Finns. It's possible that when we draft all 3 defenseman might be gone. I'm like Murray I don't know about drafting a Russian defenseman.

    It's kinda tough when you have one guy leading rookies in points, a defenseman with a 15 game point streak which helped philly turn it around and McDavid who was at a point per game pace and would probably be Calder winner if he wasn't injured or possibly been challenging Kane for the point title.

    Your trying to sell the game to the US market. Sorry call me crazy but hockey is 4th or 5th of the major sports in the US. How many times did NBC or CSNBC show McDavid? The game will always sell in Canada but in some of these US cities like Arizona, Carolina and even Florida before Jagr got their these are struggling franchises. Could you imagine what a player like McDavid would have done for Arizona. Ticket sales up and they would have more prime time games for them but he goes to Edmonton and has zero games on prime television for the US market. That's bad for the league in my opinion. Even if Toronto didn't win the lottery they would still sell out to watch that crap team. Geez Shanahan works for the NHL and then takes president of a struggling original 6 team, they steal a coach right from under us and then look #1 overall pick. How ironic.

    I personally think the NHL should have had Arizona win the lottery that way the home town kid plays at home and what better way to help out a struggling franchise. They will probably lose Hanzal in the offseason and their goes another one of their better players plus with the West being so tough anyway they really need all the help they can get. All these teams in Canada won't be affected with where ever these teams pick. These teams will always fill those arenas. If you are trying to grow the game in the US this is the worst possible scenario to have.

    I don't know what team I hate more Boston or Toronto? Actually it's Boston even their announcers think they are the best.

    I agree with Hamilton on this but having these top 3 players and 2 going to Canadian markets does nothing for the league to grow the game in the US. I was really hoping Arizona would have won #1. NHL will never learn that's why it's 4th or 5th in the major sports. I would be thrilled with Tkachuk

    Leafs will go all in with Stamkos and they would speed up that rebuild I would be happy if we can get Vesey or Cagguila and a defenseman at 8

    I would use all those picks in the 3rd either to move up or select who your scouts feel could play in the NHL.

    I wanna see Kane get laid the &uck out. Even the most skilled players put themselves in spots to get laid out. Sorry but I want Chicago to get knocked out I'm sick of them.

    I would be more than please if we can land a lottery pick in the top 3 but if we don't then the best defenseman available. I would really love Murray to go all in on Vesey and Cagguila. But in all honesty it's only fitting that Buffalo lands in the top 3 for losing the last two lotteries.

    Damn a lot of hate about Matt Ellis- I don't care what anyone says but the guy is a true professional and I truly believe even fringe nhl players are solid. Most people don't even get that far.

    Sabres will have a tough time making playoffs next year barring any major moves. This team is weird to watch. They seem to have no identity. For instance Ducks play with speed and skill and have mobile defenseman. Los Angeles are big, strong, skilled plus have some really great players. Hawks are a mix of LA and Anaheim. It just seems watching this team their isn't any style. What's everyone's take on them. At least with the 2006 team they were fast and skilled. I just can't figure out what Murray is trying to put together.
