I agree. I can't wait to see Eichel in a Buffalo uniform with Reinhart and Kane. We have a mini team usa with Eichel, Compher, Fasching, McCabe. It's only going to get better. Now what does Murray do with Buffalo's other first rounder and the first pick of the second round. Does he move Grigrinko or Zadorov for a proven young player. It's going to be interesting to see how this all plays out in the next few months.

I'm not pissed that Buffalo didn't get the 1st Pick. I'm more pissed that Edmonton got it. A team that has had 3 first overall picks in the last 5 and now add a 4th in 6. It's a Complete joke. Yes you can say the lottery isn't rigged but more reason why the lottery needs to go away. I'm curious to know the reaction of Connor's billet family since they are huge sabres fans. Not that I was expecting him to land in Buffalo but he just didn't look too thrilled about hearing Edmonton won the lottery.

Not saying it would happen but what if he pulled the Lindros and said he wasn't going to sign there. That would be funny! His face didn't look like he was too thrilled about Edmonton. I'm Happy that we get Eichel and not trying to start anything to get people wild up. Anyone else notice his face.

I wanted Arizona to get McDavid if he could go to a different team. I'm still believe like Murray does worst team picks first. I'm no fan of any draft lotto. I get why these leagues put it in place but the best league in the world doesn't even do it. I'm sick of hearing people talk about Murrays comments. We ain't getting McDavid and Eichel is a damn good player. It should be an interesting series between Erie and the Soo Greyhounds as you have a big physical team with 2 Sabres prospects on plus Darnell Nurse is on the hounds. I think Murray has something up his sleeve and is going to make a move at the draft or after to speed up the rebuild. I look at the roster this year that was having trouble scoring and now move Kane, Eichel, Reinhart into the lineup plus move Psysk and possibly McCabe into the lineup and this team should be pretty darn exciting to watch. I would have been pissed if Boston or Los Angeles would have landed him. That u give 2 bubble teams that are both still really good but have offseasons would be a disaster. Really! How would that be fair? Thank god it didn't. But I'm not happy that Edmonton received another #1 pick. I'm sure Flames fans are pissed because it seems like Edmonton has a silver spoon in their mouth. If they were the worst team all those seasons then fine. I'm a believer that the worst team in any sport gets the top pick. Players and coaches aren't purposely throwing games.

Who cares about McDavid anymore. Edmonton is going to pick him. It should be interesting to see if they move someone else for defensive help. Yeah fans in Buffalo are going to be disappointed. Oh well it's done. We still get Eichel who is a great young player. The NHL should be ashamed because he goes to Edmonton who really isn't in a market to showcase him often.

If people are disappointed about not getting McDavid we hear you. Buffalo still gets a great player who is going to be a great player in this league. People say Buffalo tanked. Yeah maybe but they striped the entire core out and started a total rebuild almost down to expansion team level. Most teams don't do that. And Murray said he wasn't going to keep UFA's without getting something in return. Tank? No smart, these players weren't doing much for us anyway. So if u think we lost out because we didn't land McDavid then you haven't been watching a lot of either one of these top two players.

I think they take Marner. Toronto gets Strome. Hanifan drops for sure.

I'm excited to have Eichel as I knew Buffalo wasn't going to win some stupid lottery. Yes McDavid is going to be a great player but Eichel is pretty darn good is his own right. To me it was a win win. That's why I wanted to finish 30th so bad because at least you guarntee yourself a great player. How u think Arizona feels being the second worst team picking 3 and missing out on both of them. I don't see them drafting Hanifan as I believe it will be Marner or Strome. The draft lottery is a huge failure in my mind. No way Edmonton should get another first overall pick as the same with the Cavs last year in basketball. Just plain stupid.

That's what I thought too at one time. You need to pay attention to him. He does everything really well and reads the play. When I watched him in Anaheim and Los Angeles this season I thought he was the most complete player on the Sabres.

Just think this team had issues scoring last year. Now Add in Kane, Eichel and Reinhart and you add speed, smarts, and creativity which makes the other players around them better.

Edmonton, they had enough top picks. I would have rather had Arizona get McDavid. A player of his caliber could help that team and fan base. I'm in Las Vegas and Arizona has a nice arena but really needs a jolt of offense. Growing the game out West is good for hockey.

I like what someone else put for Eichel. Called it New Jack City! Buffalo. I'm more than thrilled with Eichel.

I agree with u and have been saying this in previous posts. I knew we weren't winning the lottery. It's up because a team like Arizona could use a top offensive player and will miss out because of a flawed system. I'm a believer that the worst team picks first just like the NFL. Players aren't throwing games.

One thing I like about Jack is that he's a work out freak and is a super strong kid. I'm excited to see what other moves Murray has planned. I'm kinda wondering if this organization is so set on McDavid that they would flip-flop picks with Buffalo throwing in players. I highly doubt it happens but u never know.

It's not just the GM. You have to have scouts with a keen eye.
