  1. Hanging out with my nephew the other night, we do the same thing, check the news during the day and then after dinner. No time (or access) to the hourly threads. I'm tired of it all ... I've got no use for the NFL or the NBA so this could make my winter A LOT worse. Yes, I want them to play but that's me being selfish. By 'only' cancelling half of the month of Dec. maybe they will be playing by Christmas. I hope so ... and then I'll expect to go through all of this s#!T again if Bettman and Fehr are still involved.
  2. This is my sister who borrowed the old ShopVac/blower that now only the blower works - and that's what she's borrowing! I am VERY leery of letting her borrow my stuff, especially when it's only a week old. I'll be sure to tell her that yes, she should have put the $$ into the kitchen. ;)
  3. My complaint on this Thursday? My sister always wants to borrow all of the yard 'tools' instead of getting her own. And if I hear the complaint about spending the $200 on the leaf blower, I'll have to wonder how she just dropped thousands $$ on a new kitchen. Call me selfish, but my Husqvarna is NEW!
  4. I can't understand why ESPN wants anything to do with some reference to the NHL ...
  5. I've never been a very violent person, but if this creep ever did ANYTHING to anyone I love, I don't think I'd have any problem taking aLousville Slugger to both heads.
  6. And thank you, for that.
  7. Thanks for that info ... but how can I translate into English and American dollars?
  8. I'd love to get a Krefeld Penguin T with Ehrhoff on the back ... their website doesn't have any simple T's like the good old USA.
  9. No doubt I love Shea Weber, but I do not think the issue is wih bringing in a defenceman. The idea of Doan for 2-3 years and signing Ennis ( I'm still not sure about Kaleta, altho I do love him on the PK), to me are more important.
  10. As much as nhl.com shows that 'Decision Day' could be today, the first story in the latest headlines, shows that both Paise and Suter will (?) have the deision on WEDNESDAY. Get ready for so much more speculation.
  11. I just worked my 10 hour overnight shift, my 89 yr old Dad has a lump and a black eye from falling out of his wheelchair at the nursing home that would make any fighter's face look lame, the last few days for me have been exhausting. Buffalo wins back to back games - which when they WIN the second, usually the excuses come out as to why the opponent played poorly. Now the talk here is still not happy with this team. These threads are like the proverbial train wreck, that you can't turn your back on. If anyone here thinks the Sabres win it all this year, say so. WHEN healthy, they are a real good group to watch. They dug themselves in a hole that would only be called miraculous if they reached the top. DR made a drastic move in some eyes, not good enough to some, just plain dumb to others. I get the feeling WHEN the Sabres win it all - in 2 years or 4 - there's going to be negativity about SOMETHING. Happy to report, I'm going to bed. I'll be up tonight to watch the game, yet another measuring stick game. As always, I want a win ... with Hodgson getting his first point(s) in the blue& gold, and Vanek scoring.
  12. My complaint ... obviously ... is that I don't know how to change the avatar. Sorry.
  13. I like the Alpine Spring. The Winter Lager is all done here - and loved that TOO much! - so onto this. It will be a good warmer weather beer IMO.
  14. A Samuel Adams Alpine Spring, veggies, dip, and Cool Ranch Doritos for the game tonight with a roaring fire ... And I know .. I'm working on the avatar ...
  15. Real nice ... and festive. Let's hope the Sabres can get a roll going starting Monday.Merry Christmas to all ... and I'm hoping that Lord Stanley is in Buffalo in that 2-3 year time frame we were told about back in the spring.

    The Charts

'Just 5 games from when last year's turnaround started.' God, I hope this means something ...
  17. I'm a huge AC/DC fan ... I'd go with 'It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Want to Rock 'n' Roll). An intro that will get the crowd pumped.
  18. I like your optimism if not a bit over the top ... just got home from work, so a beer before bed is due!
  19. I know ... I'm about 1/2 a day late ... these 'fans' do a lot better voicing AN opinion when Buffalo's losing.
  20. has not set their status

  21. I think it's the best ... summertime enjoy the day with some golf right after work, and hockey time = sleeping until 1/2 hour before game time and watching it all. And off to work. Couldn't imagine working any other shift.
