  1. Complaint? Yet another tragedy at Virginia Tech happening right now. Two have been shot and confirmed deceased on campus, including a police officer. We're in lockdown now, but it's really f***ed up that they haven't found the shooter yet.

    :( You were right, Ghost.......
  3. Well put. I've got a feeling that we're not going to see SJ in Buffalo next year. He'll demand more money from Buffalo than he is worth. He won't mind leaving Buffalo for another team.
  4. :wallbash: One of the cars I rented to drive back to WNY recently was a little tiny maroon Toyota Yaris. And I thought I had it bad. Tomorrow is the ACC Championship game in Charlotte, NC. The confidence level is very high at Virginia Tech. We've got a group of ~30 people together for the tailgate tomorrow in Charlotte, including many people I haven't seen in a while. Bank of America Stadium is the perfect venue for this game. It is centrally located for 10 of the 12 ACC teams. All the tailgating lots and the Epicenter for afterward are within walking distance of the stadium. Plus, it turns out that the place we're crashing at is also very close by. F'N Fantastic. Go Hokies.
  5. Good idea on the thread, shrader. I was wondering what we did last year for Complaints on Thanksgiving? Anyhow, my complaint: I made the drive up to WNY today. I was PLANNING on going to the game, due to arrive at the arena 5pm, although I did not have a ticket. Well, my uncle ended up selling all his tickets because they were going for good money, and I decided not to try to scalp for the same reason. So, I did not end up going to the game. <_< BUT, I made it back to Rochester in time for dinner with my family and to watch the game with them. :) Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! (if I don't get back on here to post again)

Hmmm. What makes you think this? The upcoming schedule? (BOS, @CBJ, WAS, NYI, DET, @NSH... ) The sudden rash of injuries? (Miller of course, Myers/Weber on D; Cody out, but Hecht and Ennis practicing now) Just the psyche + recent play of the team? You think the outcome (not just final score) will have THAT big of a psychological impact on this team? I mean.. I suppose I agree with you, but I would not have been surprised by a potential swing either way at any point so far this season. Twenty games in, I'm patient to see how it plays out. I don't intend to set this Charts thread aflame, but...
  7. Yup it was Urbik the last couple drives. And agreed with the several posters on Hangartner. Didn't think much of it back three months ago!
  8. So usually I've been able to look back on the games this year and take away some positives, after all, the team is certainyl still in rebuild mode. But today, I got nothin'. Anyone? Levitre's shotgun snaps were horrible all game. I was just waiting for one to end in a turnover. Sucks because I have liked Levitre's play this season. Fitz has been very inaccurate. For all those easy slant passes he used earlier in the season to beat up on team's defenses, he can't seem to hit his receivers in the hands anymore. Our very first drive of the game (the Freddie Jackson Show) ended with a field goal instead of a TD because Fitz missed on an easy, wide-open, quick slant pass to Stevie on 3rd and 8 (or so) from the 12ish yard line. That CJ goal-line attempt was absolutely pathetic. I think I would have thrown up if they put JP in late in the game. Maybe they did, I was paying more attention to CIN-BAL at that point.
  9. Myers had quite a chance to get a glove or two on Lucic.
  10. It will be interesting to see how well we can run the ball this week. Hope our D can stay off the field.
  11. The other day, I got into a conversation about the first movie we had seen in a movie theatre as a child, and I thought mine was The Jungle Book. Regardless, some sweet tunes came outta this classic: Bonus:
  12. "Exorbitant" is the perfect descriptor. I do really like Fitz, and hope that he can be a "second-tier QB" (as the ESPN article says) for the next few years, but it seems a bit wild to put so many of their eggs in his basket after the somewhat brief amount of promise he's shown. However, I do realize the value of a competent, capable, leader-type QB, and I think he's got that potential. And he's got a heart 2 sizes larger than JP or Trent (think the Grinch). But it also shows a lot of the young guys on this team that they're not afraid to pay their team players. It shows trust in their leaders who give it 100% on and off the field. Hopefully they follow up with a contract for Freddie sometime in November, because if anyone's earned it, it's him. When your best workers/team players/leaders are getting paid, it makes the young guys try to follow suit and get on board. TBD is going to be a sh**storm the next time Fitz has a bad game... or even an average game like the one @NYG.
  13. I've been seeing a girl the past few weeks and everything was going great. But, we just had the talk yesterday about where this is going.... She doesn't want to make it an official thing because I'm moving 1000 miles away in two months, and long-distance isn't an option. Fair enough. And I don't want to continue to "hang out" if there's no chance of a long-term thing coming out of this. Also fair enough (although I'm not sure if she understands this point of view). It's just disappointing. I've been single for over three years, and I am an EXTREMELY picky person. Now I finally find someone I really like, and it's too late. Also, we've lived 80 yards away from each other for the past 26 months; what the heck was I doing this whole time? Cue the WAHmbulance, right? /sounding like a 16-year old
  14. Looks like Kelsay should be good to go, thankfully. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d82345f9c/article/bills-dt-williams-to-miss-at-least-another-game-with-foot-injury
  15. <_< It seems Kyle Williams could be out for more than expected as well.
  16. One of my best friends here passed his PhD defense this morning. He's got over 30lbs. of pork (soon to be pulled!) in my oven, and at least two dozens 40's of malt liquor to accompany it. It's Homecoming weekend here, and we've got a good group of close friends all coming in, as well as my sister. Sunny and high of 60 all weekend -- football game tomorrow afternoon and a 5k Sunday afternoon. And as I have mentioned before, the scenery is second to none here in southwest VA this time of year! And two weeks from today, two of my best friends from high school are getting married, so I get to come home to Rochester for a few days. Definitely going to Jets@Bills 11/6, but here's to hoping I can make it back in time for Flyers@Sabres 11/2!
  17. I commented here last week about Roosevelt's knack for maximizing yards after catch. That was a sweet TD today. And I just remembered the one possession, I think in the third quarter, we had 1st and 10 at the 24ish yard line, field goal range, then Fitzy gets sacked twice. No FG, we lose by a FG. Fitz didn't seem himself today. Not confident, turtling and taking sacks like a little girl. He obviously was inaccurate on many passes as well. That said, the O-line pass blocking was pretty stinkin' poor. The run blocking on that 80-yard Jackson TD was a thing of beauty. Urbik had a good key block. Oh well, tough to complain about 4-2 going into the bye.... This team needs to play better on the road (yes, I remember KC Week 1...)
  18. *BRAD SMITH. And I thnik they will try to get him more involved, looking forward to seeing what he's got. I recall hearing that he's not supposed to have the greatest hands.
  19. Good luck Matt, get some. I had a date myself last night, first in a very very long time, and it went very very well. Of course, this is three months before I am moving 1000 miles away.... No matter today, though! The sun is shining, already gave a stern warning to the housemates about going anywhere near the TV remote starting at 7:30, and..... well I guess I forgot to throw some Labatts in the fridge  Also, I recently discovered the 5th floor of the library here on campus, it's a quiet floor and I can monitor an entire hillside of the leaves changing colors. We have such beautiful autumns down here in the mountains of Virginia. :)
  20. Yeah, Lori had enough and left, maybe during last season? More of the same, sadly.
  21. Haha, and to think it's ten times worse over there when we're 0-5. For what it's worth, I've definitely heard the phrase before, but I'd say it's not really a rule of thumb as much as a lazy man's assumption. I was very surprised by the amount of DB presence at the LOS we had on Sunday. I hadn't noticed it nearly as much in previous weeks. I wonder if Chan was questioned about it at all in any postgame press?
  22. Oh I am lovin' it! Forgot to mention that it was great seeing Roosevelt step in and make a big difference, he played well. He seems to find great field awareness very quickly after receiving the ball, scrambling to get those few extra YAC.
  23. Haha yeah Chris, you just made me cringe with that one. I think I'm more worried about the Bills' defense after yesterday's win than I was before it. (Please spare me the "some people will never be happy/just enjoy the win/are you a real fan?") I've been slowly jumping onto the McKelvin-haters' wagon. It seems that they were never fully organized on D, there was always a Philly receiver open for a 15- to 20-yarder. Aaron Rodgers and the Pack would have a field day with us; he completed passes to ELEVEN different players last night! Tell me that's not scary haha. A couple thoughts on O, though.. Our O-line again was impressive with the run-block. I thought Hairston stepped up for his first start pretty well. Freddie -- can never say enough about him. He anticipates the hole so quickly and is amazing at planting and changing direction in the blink of an eye. Also, how many little ~8-yard slant passes did we complete yesterday, like twelve? It was awesome.
