  1. I don't think Zadorov was traded because Murray is short-sighted or he was what it would take to get the deal done. On the contrary, I think Zadorov was traded because Murray didn't want a lazy player with an attitude messing up the locker room and Zadorov WAS what helped get the deal done.
  2. Wow. That's a pretty glaring discrepancy between regular NHL-er and "star".
  3. Grigorenko is a victim of Darcy's haste and paranoia. I will always believe that. He could have been handled so much better.
  4. Not even close phonetically.
  5. I like Jack-Jack from The Incredibles. If I had time, I'd make an animated GIF from the video and replace the face.
  6. I mean, there isn't even anything phonetically close to "Yeichel". Believe me, I looked.
  7. The best he can do with it is "Eichel scooorreees! Yikes All!" But, no, he needs to take this one back to the drawing board. It's too forced.
  8. I was looking up variations on what could be "Yeichel" when I was struck with that realization. It's the most simple thing and makes sense because of that. Also, it sounds like "Yike - al", which, again, is RJ in his cheesy glory. Yes.
  9. Well, since we're talking aesthetics, you can't remove the context in which Eichel's goal was scored. Beyond the execution and speed of the wrist shot, you have its lack of telegraphing and acute accuracy. Most guys would shoot that somewhere into the goalie, or far wide. But, none of that happens without Eichel just stopping time to retrieve the puck after an errant pass. I will give you that Bob's reaction to the ROR goal was notable, but the goal itself was, at best, an ideal PP goal. That, of course, is good, but, again, if we're comparing aesthetics, the Eichel goal was, sublime.
  10. I figured out the "Yeichel" thing. It's a soft "J" combined with "Eichel". Like "Juan" or, phonetically, "hwahn". "Hwy-kal" - this is RJ, cheesy to the core. He sees "JEichel" or "Jeichel".
  11. I wonder if that means McCabe is staying. They're still one man over when Bogo comes back.
  12. Depends on who you're asking, I think.
  13. They didn't have Bogo all pre-season. And these first three games, I'm not seeing the D as particularly weak, but discombobulated like the rest of the team for the first two games plus one period. The D should be allowed time to gel just like the offense is being given time to gel. You have (in no particular order) Pysyk, Risto, Gorges, Weber, Bogo, McCabe as the top 6, say. Half of that line-up are youngsters. They need time. But I think that line-up can take the team pretty far as is.
  14. I will third Robin's and Dud's POV on this season. I can't muster up any sincere criticism of this group, save for Lehner, which is not really on him, but on Murray. I'm not buying into the "our D is weak" narrative that pervades this forum as well. I want to see what it is we really have here, and it will take time to reveal exactly what it is.
  15. I suppose I'm good for something around here. I'm heading back to the closet with the mop and floor basin, 'scuse me...
  16. He's ours...all ours!
  17. I like this team. And, Moulson is slick, I bet as long as Eichel is here, Moulson won't be traded away; he's Jack's blankie.
  18. Agreed. He belongs in the bigs.
  19. I was just telling my kid that on any other team in any other year that puck was on its way to the Sabres' zone.
  20. That's why we tanked.
  21. Jack. Eichel.
  22. Looking good. Speed, COMPETE, skill. The stew is simmering. How long before Girgensons gets a cut across his nose?
  23. FWIW, this is sloppy play from both teams. The Sabres are, so far, forcing a good team to not play the game the way they want to.
  24. They haven't allowed any quality chances yet, at least.
  25. I would like to see Bylsma break up his pairs.
