The spin of the wheel.

While I don’t believe in the concept of “trap” games, I do believe in rustiness after several days off. We have not looked sharp coming off several days rest on some occasions this season. I won’t be surprised if we look flat coming out of the gate tonight and I think we will need some good net minding until we knock off the rust.

Not much relief knowing he doesn’t suck as much as Dell and Tokarski. Hope he makes a liar out of me, but after watching him play all year, he hasn’t done much to convince me he can be a starter in this league. I expected better than what he’s shown to date.

Yep. That’s the one. I’ve watched nearly all his games this year. He has his moments. So does Dell. And his D certainly doesn’t do him any flavors most nights. But good goalies make the big save more often than not, regardless, and he just doesn’t seem up to the task imo. I’m not pinning any hopes on him being our long awaited goalie messiah.

UPL inspires zero confidence. None. At. All.

Eakin returned to the lineup. He was out vs. the Leafs.

I think PA was making a joke about how it wasn’t Matthews being stoned that prevented him from scoring, but Power’s good game defensively.

Could have been four if Miller didn’t see fit to give the game away in the final minutes of our first meeting this year. Mule is a MAN out there. His presence just may unleash Dahlin even more.

It adds to his total look of arrogance when he scores a goal and skates around with his arms spread and hands inviting the crowd to cheer and adore him. Makes Bryan Smolinski’s smug puss look downright humble. I don’t think there’s any such thing, but so far, so good.

How many of those 7 first round picks from Michigan are leaving to turn pro? Because if it’s a mass exodus, I doubt the Wolverines are making it back to the Frozen Four next year. Enjoy the college life experience Erik, because you won’t be returning to school and winning a championship. But hey, if the degree is important to you, more power to ya.

Johnson may be realizing that his path to being on a Sabres D pair is a bit crowded. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if he goes back to school for his last year.

Please tell me this is sarcasm. Because other than the Hagg trade, he had absolutely NO control over anything else on that list. It’s fair to criticize him for things within his control, but it’s dishonest to criticize him for things that aren’t.

Agree about his attitude. But his performance, while good compared to most, isn’t what we all hoped it would be. He’s a nice complimentary cog, not a main engine like some others in the league. That’s not a knock on him either, just recognition that there are much more talented players and it’s obvious when watching them play.

I find even less comfort in Staal’s patronizing remarks. Agree entirely about how Carolina plays. I said in the Tuesday night GDT that every guy on that team plays the way Brind’Amour played. Every one of them. Given how we’ve turned the corner since February, I have even less tolerance for giving games away. I don’t need reminders about our improvement. I need to see next steps. Holding leads in games and closing them out is paramount. I hope nobody in that locker room is content with last night. They should be pissed.
