  1. Ah, how those halcyon days of a successful road trip now seem so far away.
  2. If I was any more relaxed, I’d be in a coma.
  3. Why? Because Olofsson the one trick pony performed his one trick and Mitts got a lucky bounce on the faceoff to set it up? Need a lot more out of them than that.
  4. I’m not suggesting anyone is being blocked, necessarily, I’m just wondering if players who’ve been taking turns sitting shouldn’t be taking turns sitting in favor of two players should aren’t playing well.
  5. Well, when a couple of those vets are playing like total ass, it begs the question.
  6. Have we reached the point where Mitts and VO are, to use KA’s word, “blocking” other prospects that need development time at this level?
  7. Cushioned, odor-eating inserts.
  8. Granato needs to institute a $50,000 fine on any player that passes up a clear shot from the slot. I’m amazed Thomson can get that long neck up his ass from that distance. Shoot the fricken puck!
  9. There are crap calls and then there’s a call like that. F this ref.
  10. That second pairing. Oof.
  11. My weariness of the first home game after long road trips precedes EA by decades. I’m inclined to believe as @Taro T implied; that players need to re-acclimate to their home time zones and surroundings after a long western trip. I’m not confident that happens with only one day to do so. Hoping I’m wrong about that tonight.
  12. Always been leery of that first game back at home after an extended road trip. Can anyone tell me why that is?
  13. This is just brutal to watch. I’m out. Have a good night, folks.
  14. Couple days off, reading their clippings, knocking back a few and thinking all they gotta do is just show up. Like I’ve said before, when we move our feet and skate we are a difficult team to play. But when we decide to just stand around and mail it in, we suck. And tonight we suck.
  15. What is it about Seattle? Wake the F up boys!
  16. I said at the beginning of the season that I’d never count Rodgers out regardless of his receivers. He’s been making receivers since he came into the league. But when I watch him this year, it looks like more than a problem with his receivers; it looks like Rodgers is having issues as well. He just doesn’t look right.
  17. Have we seen the hot starts to a season on the heels of a hot finish over the last 30 games from the previous season? Good teams have to prove it every night, regardless. So of course, the Sabres have to continue to do so. I think everyone agrees on that. But I can’t dismiss the sample size from last season, either.
  18. To me, the most egregious indictment of Krueger was when DG took over after 13 consecutive losses (iirc) and said it would still be a couple weeks before we see some kind of improvement because the guys weren’t in shape to play hockey and conditioning was the most important thing to focus on. Weren’t. In. Shape. I’m embarrassed to say I ever bought into one second of RK’s bs.
  19. I agree, but we aren’t talking about last season having an impact on this season. It’s about where the team has trended over the course of a decent sample size of games. You said you needed to see a 20 game trend. I submit we’ve seen that and then some since last February. There’s no denying the improvement.
  20. If win percentage carried over from one season into the next doesn’t count, how about other stats like consecutive games scoring a goal scoring or point streaks?
  21. With all these five man rotations the last three games, it seems like everyone is playing with everyone, anyway.
  22. Don’t look now, but that’s five straight games with high quality NHL goaltending. The old man was stellar between the pipes tonight.
