Like I said, his disrespectful post game comments from last season are the LEAST of it. He flat out lied about the Sabres medical team, including the preeminent specialist in the field. Other people in both the PSE offices and the arena have mentioned what a surly cuss he was. That’s first hand from people I know personally. Every time anyone dares say a bad word about Eichel, you come running to his defense when the ONLY defense you can offer is he’s a great player. News flash: being a great player does not exempt him from being a first class A hole. Perhaps you should take your own advice and get over it yourself.

Yep. We’ve tried the VO experiment with Tage and Tuch previously. It sucked. He was great on that line earlier this season.

And while he disrespected one of the most loyal fan bases in team sports history, most of us have no problem acknowledging his awesome hockey talent, which has always been quite obvious, so I’d appreciate it if you could refrain from insulting my intelligence by suggesting I’m unable to delineate between my respect for his talent and my disdain for his character, which goes a lot farther than some post game remarks he made out of frustration in his first game back. A lot farther.

If not for UPL, I’d say the Sabres take this game rather easily.

I doubt any team is fooled by his once in a few months good game. They know the book on Casey and I doubt the Yotes would be demanding him as part of any deal. Maybe as a throw in perhaps.

Yeah, we’ve been saying that about Casey and Co. for a long time as well. I’ll need to see a good six game stretch like tonight before I can get excited.

I appreciate your finer point, but I can’t say any game is good when we just give it away like that. Flat out gifted them the win.

Say what you want about our goaltending, our lack of D depth, or any other aspect of this team, our biggest problem is stupidity. Our stupidity lost us this game. Full stop.

I was strictly speaking of our comparison to the Penguins so perhaps I misunderstood your post. Its easy to see how much better the Pens are than CBus.

Were you of that opinion when we were handing them their ***** the first two periods. We got away from the game we were playing earlier while the Penguins found theirs.

That’s always been the patter. And it makes me cringe when is defenders all scream, “I told you so!”, every time he has a once in while moment.

How many times do we say that about him each year? If he gets hot for a week, great and good for us. But I’d have to see a 6 game stretch like that before I’d be even close to convinced he’s turned the corner. That said, he atoned nicely for the bonehead penalty with a couple beautiful plays. I’m sincerely happy for him and VO. Nobody needed it more.

Note the date and time. Because it may be a while before we see the likes of a play from that line again.
