I think not practicing during this compressed schedule, while great for the everyday players, wouldn’t serve guys like Asplund very well. What does he do to simulate game conditions if not practice?

I wish Donnie hadn't gotten my hope up the other night when he said Dylan was good to go and could have returned to the game had there been more time left in it.

It’s not like Eichel is in it alone and I suspect more than a few of his teammates aren’t happy with Cassidy’s public calling out, either. They may be sending a loud and clear message right back.

Yep. He was touted as the missing piece, especially by the Vegas media. Seems like the honeymoon is ending though and I wonder if he is feeling that intense pressure of high expectations as a result. Cassidy didn’t do anything to help the situation by calling him out as Eichel has always been extremely moody and it’s easy to imagine him being an irritable prick like he was around here at times as a result.

Plus 3 on that team is an accomplishment. I get the weariness by some to bringing back a player from that era of dysfunction, but he was always a high effort player and never a douche nozzle like others on those teams so, if he is agreeable and KA thinks he can help on the back end, I’d be all for it.

I understand it is triple decker bunk beds and everybody has to wear footie pajamas.

A few weeks ago, I kept hearing how in January we weren’t gonna be able to keep feasting on backup goalies, that teams were gonna bring us back to reality by making us face their best net minders. Well, looking at the list of goalies we have faced on this current streak that just doesn’t seem to hold water as they’ve beaten Sorokin, Oettinger, and now Hallebuyck; three of the top five ranked goalies in the league. Not too shabby.

Donnie just said Dylan is ok, that Dylan was chomping at the bit to get back out there, and if there was more time left, Donnie would have put him back out there.

I watched the Tage Thompson “Mic’d Up” feature on the Sabres website and bad player or not, it’s obvious that Mitts is one of those glue guys on the team which is not an unimportant role. I think it helps explain DG’s loyalty and patience with him as well.

I think the larger point @PromoTheRobotwas making is that holding teams off and winning the close games is a trait that teams must exhibit on their way to being great.

Looks like the refs swallowed their whistles. As long as they’re consistent with it I can tolerate it.

It isn’t just the kids though. I’m seeing fatigued, lazy plays out of our vets, too.

Feet have stopped moving. Tired players skating in mud.

Tired AF.

You can almost see the fatigue setting in. Gotta dig deep here boys.

Power gotta get a goal song now. Maybe even his picture on the NHL website.

That’s indicative of something and there’s a word for it I think.
