You have no idea what motivates every player on the team. I’ve made this point ad nauseum but everyone is motivated by their own values. There was a time that Wayne Gretzky and Alex Ovechkin dreamed of playing for the Sabres. Mario Williams came to the Bills because he saw a deer in Jim Kelly’s back yard. Buffalo’s proximity to Canada is a huge draw. Some people want to play close to home, some want to be as far away as possible. Athletes are no different than the rest of us. Believe it or not, some of us still reside in Western New York because we want to and don’t tell anyone, I actually know a few people that yearn to come back.

I would like to see these lines overlayed with actual goals scored. Is that available?

A long list? I would venture to guess, without looking it up, they are no different than any other franchise when it comes to that. Las Vegas, supposedly the new model franchise, has a few “respected” players pissed off at how they were treated. You also have no idea what is going with this move. I’m sorry, I understand the impatience given what we’ve been through as fans but I don’t know how you watch that game yesterday and not feel optimistic about the future. Buffalo’s progression is about a half a year behind the Devils and Red Wings. There are no guarantees but I haven’t been this excited for the Sabres future in a long time.

They definitely need at least one more defenseman similar to Mule. His play and its effect on the team illustrates two thing’s definitively. 1) he is very good 2) the team is much better when they have competent defenseman.

I challenge all those complaining about another victory, watch any full season of the Bills Super Bowl run. They had several games they didn’t deserve to win. There are obviously things to be concerned about but they are 8-3.

Bob Kaufman was a good power forward forced to play center early in Braves history. ***I stand corrected, he did play with all those guys one season as a reserve before going to Atlanta through the New Orleans Jazz as part of expansion draft. As I said, though, he was a power forward and not a guard.*** The team could have been great, though. They were ahead of their time. It would have been quite the lineup with McAdoo, Malone, Dantley and Smith and whomever they played at point guard. It would have been almost positionless basketball with a 6’11” guy shooting from the outside and a 6’5” Dantley crashing the boards with 6’10” Malone and a crazy, athletic shooting guard in the 6’3” Smith who could jump like Jordan. I firmly believe they would have been the NBA champs if allowed to develop. They also had a chance to get Dr. J before Philly got him but that’s another story. Paul Snyder never wanted to be an owner and no one from the city stepped up.
