  1. I’m glad someone brought your first sentence up. All 6th round picks are not created equal. The rest of the list, as usual, is spot on as well.
  2. It’s hard to believe in retrospect, but Krueger’s hire was lauded by many in the hockey community. Many thought he got a raw deal in Edmonton and he was something of renaissance man. The point is, as unsuccessful as the Pegula’s hires were, the only “impulse” hire was Lafontaine and he brought Nolan with him.
  3. Jobst is 29.
  4. Yeah, I would argue that predictably it has had the opposite effect. They don’t need stars to draw in traditional hockey markets.
  5. I’m still at a loss to hear any plausible explanation as to why the league would want Chicago to win.
  6. Ya think? A couple of 30 something free agents that might win the Cup this year. Carolina will move on from one if not both.
  7. It would not surprise me if one of Carolina’s veteran goalies ends up in Buffalo.
  8. If he expressed interest, yes. I don’t think he’s coming here but I hate this “rhetorical question.”
  9. It appears there isn’t the interest I anticipated for this. Looks like it’s going to be a two man race.
  10. Probably. I’ve been under siege at what is supposed to be my semi- retirement job so I’ve been out of the loop for about a month. Zemgus is a lot more respected than a lot of people in this board realize. Buffalo wants him back but know he’s probably going to get a real offer to move on.
  11. I know, I don’t think they qualify him at that.
  12. I think the number for Dahlin and Power are close. Kyle’s works for Buffalo or Minnesota, Girgs works if he stays, he’ll get more elsewhere and I see no way Buffalo gives Jost $2M.
  13. There is a 22 minute YouTube video on it. Not sure of the origin
  14. The tank is on!
  15. This is a thing you deal with when it comes to players who are comfortable playing overseas. It could be a negotiation ploy but in this case, the threat is real.
  16. They their top three forwards, Tage, Dylan and Tuch locked up for the next three years for less than $20M. Unless they completely screw up they will not have cap issues for the foreseeable future. I don’t know any other way to put it. They will be able to afford any additions they deem necessary.
  17. We’ve covered this and articles have posted stating cap is going to rise pretty steadily after next year. When I have time I’ll lay it all out for you but it’s fairly straight forward but gist is that at minimum cap will be $88M for 24/25, $92M for 25/26.
  18. They have a lot of cap space, especially considering cap is expected to rise significantly after this year.
  19. This is not correct
  20. As I’ve said previously, they sold a significant amount of new season tickets inventory. A good off-season and I think the crowds will be there from the start.
  21. I’m sorry but I still don’t get why anything overly useful is going to come out of these, especially with a sharp, business savvy guy like Adams. These guys live by the credo “promise less, deliver more,” with just a tad of public relations thrown in. By all accounts, business is brisk at the ticket office so there may be even less pr
  22. And the 27th pick in the NFL draft would be one of over 600 starters if he’s lucky. I really don’t know where you are going with this. Have a great day.
  23. Why is it sad? It’s just a function of the sport. There are 22/23 spots on an NHL team. 12/15 NBA. A third liner in hockey would be a top 18 player. A starter in the NFL could be the 22nd player.
  24. Actually, football is the only draft where you expect a player at the 27th pick to be a starter.
