  1. Flyers were one of worst teams in league year prior to him signing there and Montreal just missed playoffs. He didn't want the pressure or the taxes of playing in Montreal at the time. Now that he is older, maybe but I doubt it
  2. Montreal offered more then Philly offered originally and he chose Philly.
  3. NOt looking to pile on but when I click the rankings tab it comes up with spring rankings dated 4/2/2013.
  4. I'm all for free enterprise and healthy competition but no matter what the business, it's never considered a good idea to rail against the competition, especially not the leader in the field. Build your own site and make it work on its own merit. Just my personal opinion.
  5. guess that means 16 goals in first 25 games but I guess a Buffalo fan would dwell on the glass half empty.
  6. Where do you get that stat? I hate him personally but 66 points in 68 playoff games with 26 goals including the Cup winning goals and a shorthanded goal in their first run that staved off elimination puts him in pretty elite "clutch playoff" peformer category
  7. For all intents and purposes Belichek is the man running the show in New England. His pro personnel guys come and go but he is trhe constant. I'm at work but I'm sure I could think of more.
  8. Buffalo was 19th in hits and 11th in blocked shots. Since they averaged over 25 hits per game I think that means only 4 games to get to the 104. LA averaged around 35 hits per game to finish 2nd to Toronto. The 6 remaining teams finished 2, 9, 10, 22, 29 and 30th in hits. In blocked shots, the 2nd most over hyped stat the remaining 6 teams finished 2, 10, 21, 22, 28 and 30th(LA)
  9. As long as they are allowed to use an amnesty buy out for a player acquired, the there is no cap hit, just cash pay out.
  10. Can't argue with that and I must admit that I was surprised when not 1 or 2, but three different people close to the situation told me similar sentiments.
  11. I have said it before and I will say it again, contrary to popular opinion, those close to the situation will tell you that his problem is he cares too much, that he is too hard on himself and takes all criticism too personally. That being said, its definitely time for him to move on.
  12. Not sure were you see the half truths so I won't comment on that but you throw your opinion in on Dumont which I will challenge. Darcy chose Kotlik over Dumont when Dumont was developing into the forward with an edge that we had hoped for. He walked away from a deal for Briere that he later admitted to mis-judging the market place. He chose not to negotiate with Vanek even though Nathan Horton set the market(wouldn't want Darcy to ever be so bold as to set the market). These moves were all on him. Who was at fault with regard to 23 and 48 has been discussed ad nauseum and the truth lies somewhere between all the lies and half truths. All this set the team back till now were we are starting all over again with the same guy that continually mis-read the market and now admits to being wrong about the rebuilding plan that he orchestrated over the last 6 or 7 years.
  13. Boy, talk about missing the point. Carry on it is somewhat amusing.
  14. If they really are expecting to be bad ( and I have my doubts), how attractive is the job? Maybe Ron hasn't been announced because they were expecting him to be so grateful he would just sign anything and instead he wants certain assurances or more input then were prepared to offer?
  15. As much as I hate to, I have to agree with Deluca. Only the players can force, and enforce change. In fact. if I am not mistaken, any significant changes the GM's may try and implement would be subject to union approval.
  16. Nice avatar, forgot about the Ric Seiling porn star look.
  17. We both know its unlikely any of the top 3 will move out and 4 through 7 will be difficult. What I am saying, to paraphrase Jerry Sullivan, I already wrote my post for 2015 listing the reasons why Darcy's plan didn't work. Here is a little excerpt; .....we thought we could turn the new currency we acquired into a top 3 pick. We misread the market place..........
  18. Didn't take long to get that oldie but goodie out there.
  19. Damned if you do? Can even the apologist side admit that a new General Manager might be better? I have said it before, I like reading your stuff and some of it I even agree with. The frustrating thing to me is that there really is "common ground" but everyone is so afraid to admit it that we have to stake out polar opposite positions.
  20. And the architect of plan A is the architect of plan B. Gotta love it.
  21. It is not necessary, see the Hurricaines, Bruins and Red Wings as the three other teams to win a Cup post lock out. It worked for the Penguins and Black Hawks but the continued insinuation that that is all they did to win is just another chapter in the Darcy Book Of Excuses. Wish someone should ask him if all you need to do is bottom out, why do you need a general manager at all?
  22. I don't but must admit I miss it at times. Unexpected by product of getting rid of it, my 9 year old now has a better phone then I do and I had to switch from a family plan to a business plan in order to add a 6th line. Oh well, story of my life, every attempt at saving money results in spending more.
  23. If he/she works for the Sabres we are in a world of hurt, more then I ever expected, since he/she keeps telling us if we don't like it, leave. The truth is, however sad it may be, is that we can't leave. We have too much invested, and I'm not talking about money. It is a part of who we are and I'm not sure of what may be worse; that they know we can't leave or they don't know we can't leave?
  24. I am a current season ticket holder(since 1996) and shared a suite for 10 years. I'm not sure that is relevant but the owner came in as a white Knight. I am not ashamed to admit I got caught up in it and even shed a tear at the thought that TP was going to be different. He told me money didn't matter. His representative tells me it does. He toid me the Stanley Cup is the only thing. He gave a flawed GM a contract extension. I feel I deserve an explanation, not because I have spent over $100K on this team over the course of my lifetime but because he made it personal!
  25. Companies always want to issue negative press releases on a weekend, preferably a holiday weekend assuming it will get less press coverage.. In other words, he wanted to pat himself on the back for not waiting till the holiday. Don't be too hard on Ted. He apologized toward the end and I'm sure the lying only came out of frustration from not being able to answer truthfully.
