Its still an effective marketing tool but not quite as effective as the days before the internet and 24 hours news coverage.

Between 1976 and 1993 I probably could have given a run for your money. Of course, I attribute most of that to first dating, then marrying, a crazy half Indian, half Italian girl. Fun times, more fun times and some really bad but kind of fun times.
-
Not in '93 either

For the record, they didn't trade Dumont, they walked away from his arbitration award. Most believe they chose Kotalik over Dumont. I believe this was actually the beginning of the end.

The more, the merrier

Need a why and what in event tie breaker is needed but I like the choice.

I have decided drnkirishone won the contest but he will be unable to accept tickets and apparently has no one he wants to give them to. Therefore, I am initiating a secondary contest. Pick a player you think will be surprise to make the team out of camp and through first month of season. Winner gets two tickets to game and if the player plays the entire season making a major contribution, winner will get two playoff tickets to first playoffs Sabres make and an autographed jersey of said player. Just name the player and tell us why you think he is the one and what you expect him to contribute. One disclaimer, while on season tickets will be my own prime seats, the playoff tickets will be somewhere in FNC and jersey will not be game worn.

Must say, not a big fan. He's a solid 4/5 that's going to get 2/3 money and term.
-
Yeah, it's looking like they will fire him by end of week. Probably same time Hoss predicts Brady news will come.
-
Because right handed shooting defenseman are at such a premium, a lot of LHD play the right side. It's less common for RHD to play the left side.

Sounds like they may be trying to leverage the threat of charges against his son to get Aaron to cooperate.
-
Unfortunately, in these type of arguments, it becomes black and white and everyone is put into two camps. I have no idea what your personal opinion is because I haven't followed your every post but I know some have labeled him guilty as charged.
-
And I could find a hundred cases within the last six months that had similar facts were charges were later dropped. You could wipe out the national debt if we could just replace innocent till proven guilty with innocent till arrested.

I was wondering the same thing. Canada makes it very difficult for someone with a DWI to enter their country so I wonder how they deal with it when one of theirs gets convicted?

a) I enjoy reading your post and point of view no matter how much I disagree with you at times. b) I'm sorry. In my opinion, and in the opinion of the civilized world before there was an internet, a true journalist has an ethical obligation to not let his opinion condemn someone without knowing all the facts. If your goal is to be a true journalist then it is relevant to everything you write. You don't get to be a journalist in one life and a fan in another. You can state your opinion of what should happen, what kind of character the guy has, etc. but as a journalist, you, more then anyone have an ethical obligation to not convict someone without all the facts. Again, this is strictly my opinion and I know some my closest friends and my adult son disagree with me. b) I enjoy reading your post and point of view no matter how much I disagree with you at times. c) You are not the first person today who has said how can he say he didn't know who they were and yet apparently threaten their family. If in fact that did happen, couldn't he have reacted to a perceived threat by pushing back, even punching and then afterwards realizing who they were, try to scare them into keeping quiet? Again, I have a hard time defending the man but I have been in similar situations with "juveniles" were it took all of my will power to not take a swing at one of them. Anyone who has worked fast food third shift at anytime in their life would probably know what I am talking about.

Which is how the cycle goes. The trick is to make the right decisions and then only need about one or two prospects per draft year to step up. The difference makers can be those that surprise you.

We will just have to agree to disagree but people get falsely accused and arrested all the time. Would bet against it this time but it's important for people to understand this. Rush to judgement and need to be first has ruined many a good name.
-
I disagree. He might not be my favorite hire but.he deserves to be judged on the actual facts not your desire to find a reason to get rid of him.
-
I understand what you are saying but the other point of view is that you are getting riled up about fans being fans.
-
I agree completely.

I will take the $100 bet and I will go $1000 for something' you think works. I trust you to come up with something that works. Maybe we can do $50 for every point the Bruins finish above the Sabres versus $100 for every point Buffalo finishes ahead of the Bruins or some variation? Cash, dinner or charity.

I would like to know the age of boys, whether there has been history of trouble with him and if he really threatened to kill family. He isn't being charged for any threat. Like Hoss, I question the guys character anyway but I have had my share of dealings with "juveniles" with no respect for authority but who also know exactly what to say when they want ssid authorities help.
-
I would agree it's possible, but I would argue not likely.
-
I will take the bet but double it up by adding that Buffalo will finish closer to the playoffs then a top five draft pick as you stated previously. As for Boston itself, they made a horrible trade with Hamilton but have subsequently redeemed themselves with some other moves. However, there "D" will be a major problem long term.

Let's wait to hear the facts. It was 1:30 in the morning and injuries not enough for a felony charge. I can think of a lot of possibilities that would be forgivable.
