  1. What did Whaley do wrong? He built tge team that should have won today and been a leader in the playoff race. Instead, the coaches it up! You can blame him for hiring Rex but you can't have it both ways. If you think Terry and Kim hired Rex, you can't blane Doug
  2. I don't feel like looking it up but I know off the top of my head, The year Plunkett, Manning and Pastorini 1983 The year we drafted Lossman And the Andrew Luck draft Pretty sure the Tim Couch draft
  3. The interesting thing is that Rex implied that he tried to tailor the defense to what they did last year and it wasn't working with the rest of his defensive scheme. Moving Mario inside seemed to make a difference.
  4. The team is 9th in shots per game. The goals will come. You can't really debate a "relative" argument but, again, in my opinion, relative to talent or not, in no way is this team worse then last year, save maybe for your favorite whipping boy.
  5. I still don't get the relative to talent they are worse. Given your feelings about Ted Nolan I guess I shouldn't be surprised but I have to say you have to be the only person voicing that opinion right now. It is like night and day watching this team. I will, however, admit that I don't play much attention to the GDT so I don't know what goes on there.
  6. Huh? Playing worse? What have you been watching? Check out Matthew Coller's article I posted in 2015/16 line up thread. Ennis numbers have been noticed. Read NHL.com talking about the Sabres' improvement. Read some of the opposing players comments. This team's improvement is being noticed.
  7. Pretty good write up here, at least in my opinion. http://www.wgr550.com/At-the-quarter-mark-Grading-every-Sabre/22202924
  8. I still don't think its a big deal but most people I talked to seem to agree with you on this particular point.
  9. Not a big fan of Barnaby either but he and Ray were good friends and even business partners for a time. Not sure if that is still true. I do know that Barnaby has nothing to do with the hot dog places but not sure about Ray's other business interests.
  10. I think the game is tied is pretty descriptive of what just happened. I share your frustration when having to listen to the radio but there is nothing that can really be done about it when games are simulcast. If you are watching the game as a vast majority are, you really don't want them constantly telling you what you can already see.
  11. That has kind of been my point all along. I don't think Ennis is a bad hockey player. I am just not sure he fits the ultimate plan.
  12. I've been wrong about Ennis before so I'm not yet sure but he may just be one of those guys who excels on a mediocre team but can't find a role on a team building a Cup contender
  13. I am pretty sure we are not in Western Canada.
  14. I was there as well with my then 10 year old son. Our different reactions show that I concur with Aud. I was in a suite so we had television monitors right above our heads. All of us adults never questioned the goal. It was a normal hockey play that we had seen countless times. My tired, disappointed son immediately yelled "in the crease" "no goal" Like Aud, I was never that upset about the call. I was actually more upset by the attempts the NHL made to cover their .
  15. Can you imagine, the #1 wild card will only have to beat the South winner and the bengals to get to the AFC championship game
  16. I just don't get all the negativity. It is like no one watches anyone else play anymore when in fact I think they see more. This is the NFL, some games, especially Thursday games resemble that and while you can list all the ifs, ands and buts that could have changed the outcome, Buffalo won. They won a divisional game. They ran a great closing drive against an elite defense. They found a way to win which is what we used to say when the Bills super bowl teams played games like that, and they did play games like that. This team is 4 and 2 when their starting quarterback plays and 4 and 1 when he has his starting RB and starting #1 WR. They are tied for first in rushing offense and eight in scoring offense. No doubt the team is flawed. Their defense is struggling to learn a new system while probably not having the right guys playing the system they are playing. Under Whaley they have gone 6-10, 9-7, 5-4 and seemingly heading in the right direction. To me, and strictly my opinion of course, they deserve more respect for what they have accomplished and in a relatively short time not constantly questioned because of things that happened before this regime arrived.
  17. As I said in the game day thread, I have four primo tickets for this Saturday versus Sharks. Thought I could use but I can't.
  18. I find it funny how Larry Quinn got roasted for suggesting larger nets and now it seems to be gaining momentum. I saw a piece on TSN were they said that over 1200 shots hit goal posts last year. That is a lot of potential goals scored without nothing else changing.
  19. That would work
  20. So would this be a good time to mention I have four awesome seats for Saturday's game that I can't use
  21. No. Fox Sports and others have reported it as an NFL first.
  22. I have no opinion on the player but I'm thinking you could write a blog stating the Bills, and every other team for that matter, contacted the high school coach of every top 200 prospect and the only ones you would be wrong on are the prospects were the high school coach is dead.
  23. I was thinking the same thing. I think Chicago is ready to move on and its going to get crazy until they move him. Considering my dislike for him personally I will refrain from giving my opinion on the possibility.
  24. Cambria quoted as saying that Kane didn't lose any endorsements although one was put on hold.
  25. I mentioned this last year, I still think it is possible Bogo gets moved for a left handed guy (Fowler).
