Its that time of the year. Predict the off season. Come the closest and win tickets. Hopefully be able to use tickets. I still owe Hoss a Jake McCabe jersey for his success in part two of last year's contest. I will be at Friday's game so maybe I will remember to pick it up and send him a note. The rules have always been kinda of vague and informal. If anyone has some other suggestions fire away. Otherwise I am the judge and jury. By the way, tickets are among the best in the house, so there is that. And you don't have to like me to enter.

Took 24 times for Buffalo to win.

It all depends on their contracts but probably the difference between $1K per game and $10K per. Its not hockey, but one of my favorite stories from a few years ago was about a career minor leaguer who got called up just before an extended road trip and made more money from his per diem then he made playing a whole year in the minors.

Accept that while he had a tough final he had 18 points leading up to the finals so.......,,

It's a JJ narrative, facts won't do.

But Callawsy wants an impact next year which, depending on Finns availability is somewhere between 1 and 4.

According to General Fanager, they are at 50 contracts.

Just wondering, has anyone heard whether JT Compher is close to signing with Colorado?

I agree. People change their mind all the time, especially 21 year olds.

Vesey's people deny this. Some suspect that Poille is trying to lay groundwork for tampering charges.

UFA College Defenseman Casey Nelson signs with Sabres

I think it's just that he has that Petr Svoboda type body with the angled shoulders -
There have been a few guys that have followed this route. Kevin Hayes walked away from Chicago to sign with the Rangers and this year besides Vesey Cslgary has Mark Jankowski they need to sign.

Contracts going to be pretty much the same anywhere. The rumors have already been going strong. Father is hired by Leafs, he is from Boston, apparently friends with Jack. And I know you are not alone, I just don't agree.

But the loyalty doesn't go both ways. If you don't pan out or worse, get injured, they don't feel any loyalty to you.

Not sure why people call it a dick move. He is just exercising his rights. He took the risks playing his senior year.

No wonder I forgot, I have wiped it from my memory and can't bring myself to type his name but it's the Hasek return.

Forgot about Schoney until your clue. No idea about other one but will probably be one of those I can't believe I forgot. Still don't want to look up, though.

Then you mis-read my post, it had nothing to do with the STH's. -

You are telling me the Ssbres lose money on Toronto and Montreal games? -

They are about to get $500 million for an expansion franchise. Do you really want to believe that two thirds of the existing franchises are losing money? They might show tens of million dollars in losses but it's all creative accounting. -

I agree we need to get well past #2 but we also really need to get past #3. Until any pro sports want to open their books, they should not be allowed to utter those words. As the great Dr. Johnny Fever once said, or, since I am old, to paraphrase him, profit and loss is but a mere theory in the landscape of big business.
