  1. Fastest tapout of this team as a fan Ive had since I started rooting for the Sabres in 1982. This franchise isn't worth it anymore. Thanks all. I am done.
  2. Absolutely tragic as it hits close to home a bit as my nephew was murdered at 25 by a negligent driver in NJ as well. Something I carry with me every day now for 7 years. I cant imagine that family right now, my heart breaks for the Gaudreau family. And for the Columbus Blue Jackets as well, as they have endured tragedies lately. Very sad day for the hockey world. RIP Johnny and Matt
  3. Yes, if Columbus retained 50% and we found another team to retain another 25%. Otherwise, pass.
  4. Went to Venice, Florence and Rome in 2018 and really enjoyed it. I agree with the pickpockets, just be mindful and careful and you should be fine. Was there in May and Rome was way too crowded, especially a tour of The Vatican, could not truly enjoy it. Florence was beautiful but had some bad experiences there. One thing to remember: If taking a bus in Florence, be sure to get your ticket BEFORE you get on the bus. We waited, thinking we can pay while on the bus, an two 'police officers' approached us and said you needed to buy before, tried to fine us 250 euros and make us seize our US passports. Thankfully, an elderly woman who spoke Italian stepped in and scolded them and we didn't have any issues.
  5. Could Levi be great? Sure he could But the Sabres cant afford to put all their eggs in 'what could be' The UPL extension is fine, if Levi pops in 2 years, UPL should be a pretty moveable player IF need be. Plus as far as Sabres goalies and being great or could be great, maybe I am still scarred by this one:
  6. I know it is not a perfect 1:1 comparison, but UPL's deal reminds me a little of what the Buffalo Bills did with Ed Oliver, they took a risk and paid him on what he could be, and so far it has paid off. In the new hard cap NHL, where the 'No Income Tax 6' (Tampa, Florida, Dallas, Nashville, Vegas and Seattle) are going to have built in advantages that even the Rangers or Leafs can't touch, teams in higher tax markets like Buffalo are going to have to be razor sharp on extensions and takes risks earlier to keep costs down to compete with these teams listed above. Adams did well on this with Cozens and Tage, only real issue so far is Cozens has not lived up to his end yet, hopefully we get the Cozens we envisioned in 24-25 and beyond. Montreal has done this with their Big 3 and they knocked it out of the park IMO with the Caufield, Suzuki, and Slaf extensions. Risky, but very manageable cap hits in a horrible tax province like Quebec.
  7. I agree, addition by subtraction. And I would rather see Benson and Quinn have clear paths to take big leaps this year then have a 5M AAV player who maybe has seen his better days take that spot.
  8. Should we be alarmed that the Sabres overall prospect pool is overrated or is this more about perhaps Savoie is the one that was specifically overvalued?
  9. I like the player we got back, just shocked it took Savoie to get him.
  10. Question for the group: Do you believe the Sabres are operating with their own cap or will Terry spend close to the max?
  11. If Kevyn Adams appears to have no cajones to make a big trade or be aggressive in UFA, how in the world can we expect Adams to do something that almost every GM HATES and that is signing one of another teams's RFA's? ZERO chance of this happening IMHO.
  12. Not a bad move by Adams. Solid and just 1 year? Ill take it.
  13. And Stamkos goes to one of the Original No Tax 6? "SHOCKING"
  14. Remember the old days of FA when you always looked towards the huge markets 1st for where the top players would go? Now its the Original No Income Tax 6: Vegas Florida Tampa Bay Dallas Nashville Seattle Then, look to big markets and then there are the teams that have little or no hope. The last group clearly where the Buffalo Sabres reside. High Tax, Small Market. Drafting has to be virtually flawless and contracts given out have to be smart. Little margin for error.
  15. I am not doing jumping jacks for this move nor am I completely hating on it. I do think Beck gives us some things we really need: He hits and he hits big, sticks up for teammates, PK, works hard, nice size anda. good team mate. 2nd round pick too much? I understand that sentiment, but 2nd round picks make the NHL 34% of the time, and that means just at least have a cup of coffee in the league. 100+ games I believe that number goes down in the low 20s. I am frustrated with Adams at times too, but I say we hold off until 10-14 days from now and let's see what we are working with.
  16. As far as dealing the 11th pick, I see it as there are two options: 1. Move some existing prospects in a package to get a Top 6 forward or some prospects to get impact players for the now with some term. 3. Keep the current prospects we have and use pick #11 to get a player for the now. If we choose Option 1, I would definitely keep Pick 11, as that player develops, we will be able to utilize the prospect on his ELC in 2-3 years given our cap will get tighter at that point.
  17. No. Thankfully we have many many clips of amazing RJ calls that we can access to remember the legend for generations.
  18. WOW WHAT A HIRE YEAHHHHHHH RUFF IS AMAZING - Reply sent from Window 98 Laptop On Netscape Browser
  19. General thoughts: * Realized tonight how much better this team would have been with a healthy Jack Quinn all year * UPL has absolutely stablized things in net and great to see UPL bounce back after a couple of rough outings * Tage looking more like Tage, those inuries lingered for awhile and now we see what he can really do again. * Was nice to see Granato take a timeout at a good time, laid into these guys when they needed it, maybe this is a step in the right direction for Donny, we shall see. The lack of the dreaded 'loser points' OTL and shootouts, coupled with just a few small things, kept us out of the playoffs this year. Better days ahead.
  20. They won’t call them up so GMKA can sell Pegula on more deception and illusion to keep his job, the Sabres are more happy to dream about what COULD be then what it really IS. THE FOREVER REBUILD
  21. Regadless of what we all think about the level of talent that the Sabres have in their prospect pool, there are some out there that think very highly of what Buffalo has in the pipeline. The first superstar player to want out of their situation, the Buffalo Sabres GM (I want KMKA out but I doubt it will happen) should be the first one on the line and send whatever prospect it takes to get that player to Western NY.
  22. This. Hoping Stillman is a solid depth piece and hope he isn't used too much because that means we have injuries.
  23. So now will we see new icons Two Buffalo and not One Buffalo?
  24. If McDavid were smart he would force a deal or sign with one of The Big 6 in the USA, the markets that enjoy the sweet aromas of the tax breaks: Nashville Florida Tampa Bay Dallas Vegas Seattle In this locations McDavid can sign for almost 2M less AAV then in Edmonton and net the same $ if not more, other players follow suit as they do now, be able to spend millions more then high taxed NHL markets and McDavid will win multiple Cups.
