  1. I'm sticking with this.
  2. Agreed. I think we should be able to get Ullmark done for 4-4.5 per depending on term. I don't go any higher than 4.5 though.
  3. Honestly, I suspect what you might see happen is that a lot of us younger folk will be rushing out to get it ASAP and that slots won't be as hard to get as we get closer to summer. I'm not seeing much in the line of hesitation from people in the under-40 group. (and I say this as someone who has never had a flu shot in his life)
  4. Stoked to be able to sign up for a vaccine today. Grabbed a slot down at Corning for the Pfizer two-stage in mid-April, but then found out I could get the J&J one-stage at Wegmans, so I'm signed up to get that next Tuesday. If that goes well then I can cancel the mid-April Pfizer one, but I have no idea what to expect from a lunch-time Wegmans appointment. Maybe a sh*tshow. 😂 This whole system, with multiple websites, providers, is quite chaotic. I'm glad they let older people get the first dibs, because signing up now is going to be a young person's game.
  5. I think the argument for claiming him is that you would get about the same type of stats as Risto for a slightly lower cap hit.
  6. Fwiw my buddy who is a Philly fan thinks this is dumb and that Fletcher/Vignault are scapegoating him.
  7. Wow
  8. Technically it started with Lazar in place of Hall and Hall jumped on to provide more offense 😂
  9. I just want it on record that I think Taylor Hall is garbage.
  10. I'm never gonna get over how useless Hall is. What an absolute joke of a hockey player.
  11. Hodgson will always get a pass because it was literally hurting him to try harder. Screw Taylor Hall.
  12. For real. Dude had no idea what he was supposed to be doing in OT. Got caught behind the play twice and the second time ended in a goal.
  13. Risto trying to singlehandedly throw this game away
  14. Lol that's insane
  15. Brian Elliott FINALLY having a bad game against Buffalo?
  16. Another weird nugget to keep in mind with Linus is that he's very much a family man. If you follow him on Instagram he's all about his wife and kids. He's not in any way one of those "living the superstar life" kinda guys. So for him I bet he would prefer to stay on the east coast, and I bet he wouldn't mind signing somewhere that he's comfortable for a long term deal. This is the kind of guy who ends up moving to Buffalo and staying here for life, dig? edit: He's also a big water guy. He likes boating and fishing. Pretty good boating and fishing round these parts...
  17. There are a lot of viable starting goalies coming available next year. It's probably not make or break to keep Linus. This is goalie purgatory after all. That said, I think Linus is going to be facing a lot of competition for roster spots at his price-point. He might be smart to take a reasonable deal and just stay here where he knows he's probably going to be the number 1.
  18. Yup. I like Linus and would like to re-sign him. You can always trade him later if UPL makes the jump. That said, I would like to get a solid prospect or a first round pick for him if we trade him. I think he could probably start for a good team and take them deep in the playoffs. He's worth that price.
  19. Thanks for expanding, this is exactly it. It's distinctly possible that some of the much speculated Pegula meddling was more accidental than intentional, a case of inexperienced owners too involved in the work and unaware of the harm it was doing, and inexperienced management too accommodating to draw a line over it.
  20. I get that the Pegulas are definitely...around. Terry especially seems to just like to be tottering around in his dad sneakers feeling like he's involved, even though he has no idea what is going on. My hope is that people who are used to dealing with him, or people like him, know how to...uh, humor, Terry. I have to imagine he's not the first sports owner who wants to believe he's helping.
  21. Echoing dudacek here, I think the Bills, ahem, understanding, is basically "leave the football stuff to the football people". That's not an unreasonable way to structure things. At the very least, it's the professional way to do things. Finance the team if you want, handle the business side of it, but let the experts do what they do. Fire them at will if they fail, but don't be so foolish as to think you can do it. Rutherford and any other credible hockey people they bring in should not have any trouble installing the same ground rules. Perhaps the problem with bringing in guys like Murray and Botterill is that they simply lacked the clout and experience to know they needed to.
  22. The reason I expect that Rutherford might get his demands met without too much complaining from the Pegulas is that getting told to eff off by the Bills is exactly what turned that team into a winner. Beane and McDermott don't strike me as guys who like to be micromanaged. And frankly, I think they were actually trying to do the same thing with Krueger. I think they expected him to work out in such a way that they could put some more distance between themselves and the Sabres. They probably figured they were getting a little two-for-one deal with him, someone who could coach the team but also do a little of the advisory stuff in conjunction with the GM. It just didn't work out... So having a team of Rutherford-Adams and a TBD credible coach ends up being a little less budget friendly version of Krueger-Botterill.
  23. If the Sabres can get Rutherford and Karmanos, and then a real coach, they will have solved their credibility woes basically overnight.
  24. They ran out of gas because they're all out of shape
