Maybe. But at some point you have to put your foot down, either the coach or the GM. There's no reason to have him in the lineup right now.

If Eichel is truly hurt they need to shut him down. It's not like he's contributing despite his injuries. He's completely ineffective.

We'll find out if the team doesn't play the way we, and theoretically Adams, want it to play this weekend. I'm not sure they even need to win to keep Ralph alive. They just need to show up.

Adams should feel comfortable in the idea that he and his coach have agreed on what they want the team to do, that it's the coach's job to make it happen, and that he should move on from the coach if it doesn't.

I still don't know if Adams is actually going to be a capable GM, but it sure sounds like Krueger is gone if he can't get these guys going.

They had to fire Nolan because he brought in Arturs Irbe to coach the goalies and they played too good. Those guys were playing for their careers. The current Sabres clearly aren't.

I think what's funny is that a lot of players on those tank teams were really honestly trying to win games. They never gave up because I think they were fully aware that they were expected to be bad. These current teams, expected to be simply okay, roll over and die at the slightest hint of adversity. Just incredibly fragile, hopeless, and without any sense of pride. They aren't trying to prove anyone wrong like the tank players were, and it shows.

That old nugget about the Sabres medical staff being just the absolute worst never seems to go away does it?

The problem is you can't fire the players.

I never rooted against the tank teams, but you bet your ass I'm rooting against this one. The more embarrassing it gets the better. I hope they all retire.
