Obviously it's too soon to start declaring victory, but wouldn't it be wild if years from now we're talking about how the Sabres being horrible way longer than planned ended up being their saving grace?

I think we're short on perspective about how often players are injured in this league. People here only focus on the Sabres. Take a look around at what other teams are going through. Boston has no goalies. Stamkos gets hurt almost every season. Dallas has a bunch of players who seem to just suit up whenever they feel like it.

So what.

I don't know what Granato is putting in the Gatorade but it's working on psychological level at the very least.

Dahlin was talking like he's looking forward to it, that he liked how both teams were pushing the game to a higher level. That's the kind of attitude that this team needs.

The post game interviews have been must watch the last few weeks. Every single player is just bursting with attitude.

If I'm the Sabres the last thing I want to do is get Taylor Hall engaged in the game by throwing a big hit on him or acknowledging his existence beyond being just another guy. Frustrate him defensively and watch him disappear into the void.

I'm looking at it like it's the Dignity Playoffs. Put up a good fight against the Bruins in this "series" and I'll be pretty happy. Also, I recommend giving Granato's interview on WGR this morning a listen. I don't know if he's the right coach long term, but he sure seems to have the right approach with the younger players in the short term.
