  1. I thought that was a pretty good effort tonight, actually. I didn't miss Skinner and their AHL defense corps was only a little scary. Staal-Hall-Cozens is a good line and I think they're due to start producing. Jack was too sloppy with the puck tonight. I don't know what the deal is there, but he looks bad. Dahlin was pretty good.
  2. Every year the twitter nerds get caught sniffing their own farts about some cause celibre where they think their position is infallible. Risto is "the worst" or Pilut is "the best" or that Bogo is "the worst" or O'Reilly's faceoffs don't matter. This year it's "Skinner is actually good" despite all evidence to the contrary. It's just so boring.
  3. Has anyone considered the possibility that Skinner and Krueger both suck?
  4. Okay Jack
  5. Yomamaween
  6. This rules. No one knows anything about hockey.
  7. Is that bad
  8. Yup. Let's not kid ourselves.
  9. That's kinda the point. Good for him and everything, but they still suck. Tyler Ennis scored goals too.
  10. Here's the thing: how many players have the Sabres had who could score goals and pump up their stat line, but never actually contributed to winning games? Remember when Drew St*ff*rd was the king of pointless goals? So what if Olofsson is putting the puck in the net on the power play. They're still losing. It's meaningless.
  11. Watch the Caps defender there. He immediately goes down with his stick to cover up the pass to Sam. Teams literally don't think the Sabres will go to the middle of the ice and shoot (because, well, they don't), and they're defending like it. Just total disrespect to give Olofsson that much space to shoot.
  12. I think you're reading too much into it PA. It was business-like but they did celebrate. The little fist bump with Sam was fine. What I thought was interesting was that, instead of looking for a pass, he just went straight to the middle of the ice and did it himself. It felt more like a "see, this is how you do it" kind of message being sent to his teammates...if we want to try to read between the lines...
  13. You want to force our goalies to make more saves?
  14. Let's grab a beer at Dublin Corners in the spring.
  15. Here's the thing: If I felt like I knew who to blame, I would be mad. But I don't know who the blame. I'm not going to point a finger at Ralph and say "there's the problem". I'm not going to point at Terry, or Jack, or Linus, or Matt Ellis. I don't know anything about it other than that it's terribly boring. The game might be on the TV, but I can't say I'm watching it. I've got a great biography on Churchill to read. I've got some sh*tposting to do about weird cars on twitter. I've got a workout to get done. I've got some photography sites to scout. The Sabres are at the extreme bottom of my list now, and they're going to stay there until they earn their way out. This is the pre-Allen Buffalo Bills: irrelevant background noise.
  16. What's left to say? That's the question I've been asking myself about this team going back to the end of last season. What's left to say? I don't know how you all are still finding anything. Fracking? Night in, night out, year after year, regardless of the roster, the coaches, the jersey colors, this team is just wholly unremarkable. Star players? I don't see any. Bad players, good players, what's the difference? They're boring no matter what. Take the names off the back of the jerseys and tell me they're all clones: I'll believe you. Every time I turn a game on I think to myself "Maybe tonight. Maybe tonight is the night they surprise me. Maybe tonight something will be different." But it never is. Just another night of Rob Ray saying they just need a goal to get back in it. Precedented times or unprecedented times? It's all the same. I'm not mad anymore, I'm just bored.
  17. How does every other team in the league manage to draft players who develop and contribute?
  18. *****. Too damn young.
  19. This is exactly it. The bubble is not going to be something all players can cope with mentally and emotionally. He gave it a shot but ultimately decided it wasn't going to work for him.
  20. The Bruins have a game at noon and Tuukka Rask just opted out ? Obviously good for him on making the tough call since he has a new baby at home. But man...
  21. This should be a good one
