  1. You really need to stop worrying about "finding a job" with some other company. You have one already: your business. That's all you need to work on. Your business. That's where success and freedom lie.
  2. You're gonna be fine.
  3. He's still a better player than what we gave up for him, and he's filling a position of need. It's okay to want more from him, but all things considered the O'Reilly trade still looks good.
  4. Nearly 31 here. I don't remember much of the Bills in the playoffs. The Sabres have basically dominated things for me since about 1997. So the Bills making the playoffs has me excited since I'll actually remember it.
  5. Oh yeah baby that's the stuff
  6. Bortles isn't the problem. Stopping the run is going to be the problem. Because our defense is going to be on the field the whole game if McCoy can't play.
  7. The problem with O'Reilly is that without O'Reilly we have no center depth. We're kinda stuck with him whether we like it or not, because the alternative is...not having him.
  8. biatch imma be there
  9. Like I said... :P
  10. I think I'm tuning out until something interesting happens with the roster. Zero meaningful games left now that the Winter Classic is over.
  11. He doesn't need to if he's just backing up Ullmark. With the assumption here being that they want to bring Ullmark up next year and are confident he'll be okay but have some rough patches. I think Cam could play 30 and win half of them.
  12. Okay, I might start with one of them antistatic brushes and see where that takes me.
  13. The idea that we're making Lehner look good doesn't seem too far fetched to me. As was the case during the tank years and even now, this team wasn't capable of doing much else except play team defense. They haven't been able to muster good 5v5 play so protecting their goalie is basically all they've got. I'd take Ward for a year over Lehner on a long term deal.
  14. I had no idea that was there. Between that and Niagara Emporium, that mall is better than ever.
  15. I like EP's a lot. Give me all the music.
  16. Hasek is weird because his stats would have gone counter to what he looked like doing them. Hasek was probably hard to watch if you were a goalie coach or scout. He made saves, but it didn't make any sense. Lehner makes saves too, and his numbers look really good right now, but I don't think any of this is logic defying like Hasek was. Everything about Lehner at first glance appears to present a good NHL goalie. But looking a little closer makes me nervous. Hasek turned out to be surprisingly good. I think Lehner has the potential to become surprisingly bad.
  17. Right. I'm not a Lehner fan, but I'm hardly his biggest critic. I think we can upgrade, but I think we can also more easily downgrade. We're in a very tough spot.
  18. You've got it. He does a good job of covering his shortcomings somehow, and it makes him look like a good NHL goalie most nights. I'm concerned that what we're seeing from him is Lehner at his best, which is fine, but still somehow wrong. It's hard for me to articulate which is part of why I'm kind of wary about him as a goalie.
  19. It's a really tough call. And I can't get past how much I simply don't like him as a goalie. Goalies are weird, and Lehner is very weird. He's very much affected by his mental game. I'm amazed he's kept it together as long as he has this year. I think staying healthy has been huge for him. I'm terrified of his next injury. Or if he loses his focus in the playoffs and can't get it back. I don't know if he's talented enough for me to want to take that risk.
  20. I like to think this forced artists to make more complete albums, or at least album sides.
  21. Jesus, swamp was right. This is like rediscovering you really like meth. I had forgotten how much this stuff excites me.
  22. weather.com might be worse than Fox News with that crap. WINTER IS COMING, WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN TO THE PUPPIES?
  23. That doesn't surprise me at all. There's so much "this guy says this is great!" stuff when it comes to audio equipment. You could spend your life reading reviews for speakers 100 people think are great but 5 people think those other people are insane. Who is right? I'm not sure I can trust the wisdom of the crowd with this stuff because maybe what works for them isn't what works for me, especially in an era where so many people are getting their music from compressed and distorted digital streaming formats. That's why I like vintage stuff and thrift shopping. I can spend pennies and maybe end up with a great set of speakers that work great for my listening space and my equipment setup. There's a great little shop out in Rochester called Audio Sound Solutions. Just a guy and his dog, surrounded by old speakers, head units, etc. When I moved in the spring I took some old floor standing speakers to him to just get rid of because one of them was worn out and I didn't have the space for them at the new place. I'm worried he's going to close some day and that'll be the end of that. Which would be too bad. I might take a trip back up there soon and see if I can't find an upgrade pair of vintage bookshelf speakers there. But I have to be able to listen to them.
  24. Thanks. As to the bolded, ain't that the truth. Sometimes I think the mixes are done now to make them sound better on streaming services and mobile phones than on the physical album or something.
  25. Well that's interesting. You could be right about the mixing, but man, whatever the case is, it's a bad record. I've been thinking about going the sub route. We'll see. I think my first order of business is getting some of my records cleaned up. I think I'm going to build a DIY washer. There are lots of plans out there. Do you or your buddy have any brushes or cleaning fluids you like?
