  1. Hell yeah. It can play on a line with a sandwich my mother says my grandfather, an electrician for the Buffalo News printing presses, used to like: leftover baked beans on toast.
  2. A lot of people crap on Tim Hortons coffee, but I like it. It reminds me of high school/college. We used to spend a lot of time sitting around Tim's late at night drinking coffee and bullshitting because it was the cheapest way to get out of the house. I also like their breakfast sandwiches. Mediocre donuts, but that's how it goes.
  3. I don't see it happening. Not unless the NHL makes drastic changes to goaltender equipment to force goalies out of their highly scientific approach to the game. Interesting.
  4. The nice part is that we're not in cap jail. Even with O'Reilly and Okposo on long term contracts, their cap hits aren't that bad. Not when you look at what Ottawa has going on. So maybe we could pry some depth out of Ottawa with that first. O'Reilly and a 2018 first (not the Sabres), for Karlsson and ....?
  5. I think their cap situation is okay. It's the fact that they're stuck with Bobby Ryan and Phaneuf that kills them. They'll be able to pay Karlsson, but the rest of the team would be a mess. If you can get a 2018 first for Kane, would you trade O'Reilly and that first for 2 years of Karlsson?
  6. Would the Senators do O'Reilly for Karlsson, and would you do it?
  7. And that kinda thing is never happening again, ya know? We'll still get guys like Lundy now and again, but for the most part we're never going to see a goalie that just dominates other teams for basically his whole career. He was an extremely talented goalie in an era where goaltending was transitioning to butterfly being the dominant style, so even the most average goalies can put up a Hasek-esque season now and then. Truly dominant goaltenders are a thing of the past.
  8. I feel like if Vegas did this it would immediately take the shine off of the "no expectations fun run". Suddenly they're a team bringing in playoff rentals. I could see that not playing well in the locker room.
  9. Goalies are stupid. Just trade them at will. They should basically always be some of the lowest paid players on your team because half the time all it takes is a random goalie to be hot.
  10. I'm not sure it matters even if he is. You can't spend that kind of money on a goalie.
  11. Wouldn't that be something. Could we trade them someone old and slow?
  12. Now that's something I haven't done in many moons...
  13. Just barely. But the advantage to Guinness is it's not as carbonated so you don't feel as bloated when consuming it by the gallon...
  14. Guinness is the easiest beer to drink in the world. I once drank two pitchers on the night before Thanksgiving. Then went back after Thanksgiving dinner the next night and drank three. 4% and full of B vitamins. It's basically Gatorade.
  15. Word. Sometimes you just gotta have a couple crisp cold regular beers. I can't play disc golf on a hot summer day while swilling IPAs.
  16. I want to do a triple crown day. Start in Utica at FX Matt with a Utica Club for lunch, Genesee Brew Pub for dinner in Rochester, then Iroquois in Niagara Falls for dessert.
  17. This is probably the case. "it will be a light lager true to the post-Prohibition period when Iroquois was the largest brewery in Buffalo. It's going to be 4.3 percent alcohol, and will use flaked corn as an ingredient -- a nod to the "adjunct" grain brewing method typical of the post-Prohibition and pre-craft brewing era in America. (Craft brewers generally disdain grains like corn or rice, using barley malt instead)." http://www.syracuse.com/drinks/index.ssf/2018/01/iroquois_beer_returns_to_buffalo_craft_brewer_resurrects_iconic_brand.html *sips a cold Genny* excuse you.
  18. Danny Paille?
  19. I've never had a problem there. Back when the Sabres were a playoff team we used to go there for every game because of the beer specials. Also the Mountain Melt.
  20. I forgot it was only a NY chain. That actually makes my point even better. Clearly NY, especially upstate, is all about chicken fingers.
  21. Chicken fingers aren't just for kids. Tully's built a national chain based on that fact.
