  1. Looks like it.
  2. Yup. It's a massive project that they probably started too late. I don't blame the artists too much, I'm sure they did their best. It's the client (the NHL/their media team) that is the problem here.
  3. You're too kind. This is why I'm your advocate lol
  4. It's largely unfinished. There are multiple different styles going on from hyper-detail in the faces to extremely basic graphic design in the environment, jerseys, etc. The perspectives are really janky on the poses and a lot of them don't look like they utilized any reference. It almost looks like they had two different artists work on it, one illustrating the heads, another doing the more graphic-design based stuff. The end result is sloppy.
  5. Staggeringly bad work once you start really looking at it. This is the kind of stuff the NHL should be paying Josie to do.
  6. Caps - Blues is where it's at.
  7. Your roster doesn't really look too bad, but Kaapo Kakko is a weird choice given he's literally never played a game in the NHL. It might work out though. Roope Hintz is a reach but with good upside. I'm not seeing too much of a log-jam in your roster schedule-wise so it might make sense to just let it ride for now.
  8. It's funny, autodraft usually does a pretty good job these days, but I think the way our GMs draft kinda screws with it. Sabrespace GMs are, uh, creative.
  9. The goal was to get as close to the cap as possible so that when players go on LTIR they get as much cap relief room over the cap as possible. So now a bunch of moves will happen again today/tomorrow. Olofsson will absolutely be back for opening night.
  10. It's wailing. These guys have been covering sports for decades and you'd think they'd be a little wiser for it and provide some content that reflects that. But I understand, they have to appeal to their listener base: the worst opinion havers on all sports topics. It's too bad really. They could be worth listening to at moments like this.
  11. Yeah, I had to turn them off this afternoon. Just incredible levels of wailing.
  12. I don't know why I'm picking first in this league again but, uh, sorry everyone ?
  13. So basically we find out tomorrow who is going on LTIR. That'll be interesting. I don't expect Bogo to be there. But you never know.
  14. This looks right. I knew there was something weird about league first day that we were missing.
  15. I was under the impression the LTIR effect doesn't happen until the team's first game day.
  16. I don't think this is correct.
  17. Hunwick is already on LTIR Edit: sorry no he's not.
  18. Sure, but then you can place them on LTIR and get that salary relief over the cap if you add a player. So the goal is to get below the cap as much as possible right now to give yourself as much space as possible to go back over the cap later.
  19. So much roster juggling. Cap stuff is going down.
  20. I think LGR and freeman are both half-right. My feeling about the tank is that it was a good idea executed with the worst foundation in place. Tanking a year to try to get a good player is no big deal but you have to have some things in place first, like a good farm system with a handful of developed players ready to make the jump. And you have to keep some of your good team vets around. The Sabres started their tank with no farm and got rid of too many vets. They tanked about 3 years too early and this has been the result. Meanwhile, a team like Toronto has recovered much quicker by doing exactly the things the Sabres failed to do. Pittsburgh is another team that executed a tank correctly. It's totally doable. The Sabres just screwed it up in every possible way.
  21. You caught me before I could fix it. But you're right. Last season only under Housley, who leaned on him in a defensive role even more than in his last season in St. Louis. Prior to that, given more balanced deployment, he wasn't too bad. Not an offensive juggernaut, but not a liability either. Any way, stirring the pot since that's what everyone wants.
  22. I'm going to throw this out here and really let people melt down: One of the reasons Housley was fired was for his misuse of Sobotka the last two seasons compared to how he was used historically prior to coming to Buffalo.
  23. I can't believe we're in agreement on something, but here we are lol
  24. You're not accounting for the effect of things like cap management, the RFA gridlock, and the movement that is likely to take place these first few weeks on the decisions that need to be made about doing things like waiving a Sobotka or Okposo. If this stuff is going to happen, it's going to happen after the season starts. Imagine the flexibility something like Bogo getting LTIR'd could afford?
  25. I saw that today and was glad to see such an outpouring of support. I can't even comprehend the trauma Molly has experienced, and Jeremy along side her. Just absolutely life altering.
