Olofsson and our more mobile defense. And Johansson pushing Mitts to 3C. I also like Krueger more than a lot of people here seem to. My feeling is that he's the kind of person this team has needed at the head coach position for quite a long time. Mostly I just think there are a lot of things that are going to happen league-wide over the next week or two that could leave a lot of teams, including the Sabres, looking different than they do today. They are not going to have the same season they had last year. My only real concern is how long it takes for the new goalie coach to make his mark.

I feel good enough about this team that I don't think a bad October buries their playoff chances. I still think they're a bubble team anyway. I also don't think they end up having a bad October even with Vlad on the second line for a bit. We've been suffering for so long that I can hardly get worked up about it.

The thing is, Ralph Krueger doesn't read your posts lol Might as well just let this play out, right? If you're right then it shouldn't take long for it to get fixed unless you already believe that Krueger is a lost cause. So start the fire Krueger thread then.

And if everything goes the way you think it will, all of this complaining will be moot in about two weeks when the bad players who aren't doing their jobs are off the team.

It's the way teams do things. He's got a new coach too. And the preseason only means so much to evaluation. Sobotka's role on this team is second line or bust. If people want him to fail out, this is how that happens. I'm sorry you guys don't like that this is how teams do things.

I like erod but I don't think plugging him in there gets Sobotka off the team. He should be able to take a spot on the bottom two lines and hopefully that will happen. But there's really no point subbing erod for Sobotka right now. There's no evaluation to be made from doing that. Sobotka has to wash out in that role.

Okay, but who are you plugging in there today?

I don't think Erod slots on the second line, so it's basically Okposo who is at risk for that. Sobotka's future depends on what we can get to fit in that spot. You pretty much need to trade Risto to get enough salary freed up to waive Okposo, Sobotka, and add a RW. It should go down that way if Botterill knows what he's doing. I will be ready to complain with gusto in a few weeks if we're sitting here watching them suck because the right side is still a mess.

Here's hoping. The 27th is the most insane district in the state.

That whole right side is such a mess. Sobotka might actually be the second best RW on this team at the moment. Fans aren't going to like it, but we're going to have to sit here and watch this for a least 3 games.

I didn't quite hit my stat targets in my spreadsheet but I opted to roll the dice on projections rather than historical stats this year so we'll see what happens. I like my defense and goalies. My method seems to work a lot better in Gold where our rosters aren't as deep.

This is where I think things are heading, it just needs to shake out.

It'll be interesting to see if Bogo even has a spot on this roster when he gets healthy.

It would be something to note if he isn't wearing an A on opening night.
