The season is upon us. Right off the git go, the first two games are on NHLN. Streaming services with NHLN that might have a free trial? Then the bulk of the season. MSG Plus vs ESPN Plus. ESPN plus while in market with the needed VPN would be a little cheaper. MSG Plus doesn't offer a stored replay right after the game (and perhaps not until the next morning). Not sure about ESPN Plus.

I was going for more of a semantic point. The Buffalo Sabres are in Europe. Detroit is playing the Buffalo Sabre Prospects tonight. Or are we going to say any time a group of hockey players puts on the official Buffalo Sabres sweater, they are the Buffalo Sabres, much like how any plane the president is on is Air Force One?

You appear to be right based on several reputable Internet sources from the day. From Die by the Blade: {Update}: This is a permanenet captain as per Lindy Ruff press conference from the Arena. The management and coaching staff decided that there would be one captain for the entire season and then they allowed the players to vote. Rivet was named captain after the players voted him to be captain. ESPN reported it as well.
