Finally saw it. I had it all mixed up. It was a bad call but not an easy one to make. The linesman has to make the call when the first player reaches the dot. It was essentially a tie in the race to the dot with Cozens maybe by a nose. Tie to the defender? But Cozens clearly was gaining ground as proven by his reaching the puck first. The other part of the call once the first player reaches the dot is whether the puck will cross the line. I think the linesman was fooled by the direction of the puck. Bad call yes but not because the linesman failed to see Cozens touching the puck. The call had already been made.

You said Quinn touched the puck above the end line so maybe the linesman deemed that the puck was not going to cross the line.

I haven't seen the play, but hybrid icing must be a nightmare at times for the linesmen.

By playing well enough do you mean having a decent record? I am guessing that's what you're saying. Yes it's a little early to fret over one game vis a vis making the playoffs. They are not in a terrible spot, nor a good one. 23 points in 22 games is not enough.
