  1. All right. All right. I see the right to left action with the tail at about five o'clock. Sort of a The More You Know star effect. All in all this logo holds up quite well after 24 years. Considering that the slug never held up for even a short time.
  2. Just read something about a hidden buffalo in the goathead jersey when it's outstretched. It was a News article that quickly went into "you must subscribe" mode, so I don't have a better explanation for the concept.
  3. I feel like Mr. Pitt trying to see the UFO. Right to left? Dragon? Mouth? Tail? Where? What?
  4. How to interpret this blurb from PETA on releasing mice trapped in the house? Within 100 yards and they are OK? Beyond that is "strange territory"? It doesn't seem logical. If they're saying released mice die anyway, why not suggest the most humane thing, which would be killing them?
  5. They started trying?
  6. They're not even anti vaxxers. It's a lot of normal people who don't know the term anti vaxxer or the "movement."
  7. Great charts. Why do I have to guess what the data points are? Star probability?
  8. In the Matt Ellis of Matt Ellis threads, it was proposed that, not being the most talented player, Ellis will be a good pro development guy because he had to work hard to make it to the NHL and can teach those traits to the youngens. But someone who's uber talented wouldn't be a good pro development guy because it came to him too easily — you can't teach talent. With Hedman you can see he works hard to make it look easy. My thought was that that's true of all the greats. How many times do you think Sidney Crosby practiced that short side, top shelf flick? If anything, what I think would hold back a superstar from being a good teacher or coach would be not understanding how everyone doesn't want to work as hard as they did, be as absolutely committed as they were — not that someone drafted into the NHL didn't have enough "talent."
  9. So... not a natural?
  10. I'm still waiting for the moment when the Sabres start winning and I have to find a way to continue to criticize the Pegulas. Looking forward to it.
  11. You own a truckstop and make it know you like bosomy waitresses, Because Bosomy and because you know the truckers who eat there will like it. You hire someone to manage the place, and she's bosomy. She implicitly knows to hire bosomy waitresses. Would you say the owner has zero involvement in what the staffing ultimately looks like? You can draw a straight line from the Pegulas to Matt Ellis as director of player development. Of course they can say they didn't hire him. So, I guess, they can't be touched when they have to fire everyone again in three years. Terry's hands were all over the Botterill Error, from Housley to ROR to watching game film and sitting next to assistant coaches up top. In the end, he can easily sell the public on Jason being the one who has to go.
  12. Look, listen, stop, drop and roll... You're preaching drafting/player development as your model for success, because you don't think free agents will come to Buffalo and your GMs can't make franchise-altering trades (not positive ones, anyway). You can't then turn around and look no farther than Matt Ellis, who's been "developing" youngsters with slim chances of making it to the NHL, to head your development team. Well, you can do that, but you can't be taken seriously. If they're following the NHL tradition of development hiring that nfreeman and dudacek are talking about, shame on them.
  13. When your response starts with a personal attack, it says a lot. You can shoot the messenger all you want. After you get the nastiness out of the way, you know the score just like I do. You just dislike me for knowing it nine years before you did I guess. Except.... it'll take more than making the playoffs to stop the negativity.
  14. Does this indicate it's a useless position for most NHL teams? Populated by people getting favors? If so imagine the advantage if the Sabres didn't follow suit?
  15. Think Jack's impressed by this hire? Does it tell him this organization finally is getting its ***** together?
  16. You can't be cereal. Is there any plausible scenario where Matt Ellis is your director of player development if the Sabres had a real GM and the owners hadn't laid down the template for what kind of people they want working for them? I'll lay 50-50 odds that the Pegs recommended Ellis to Adams, with the other 50 filed under, "I know what I have to do here." And in both cases, it's clearly involvement.
  17. Yeah? The jerk store called and they're running out of you.
  18. Don't be mad. You stepped in it. Adams could have hired hundreds of people who were on his page.
  19. You're really breaking some news here. The GM hires someone who's on his page? No kidding. There isn't a good hockey reason, or a vision factor, that justifies hiring Ellis. The vision that's being brought to life is the Pegulas' vision of hiring people they know and trust and like. Adams is already showing how feckless he is. But when you have a razor thin resume and end up as an NHL GM, you do everything you can to please your patrons. Flat management structure? It's been a longtime joke, but the owners have just about managed to create a structure where they are on the same level as their managers. I mean, they've owned an NHL team for almost a decade. That holds up against a youth hockey academy director/instructor pretty well. Absolute trash and insanity, which inkman knows the definition of.
  20. I thought Kim and Terry sent the trees from out back to Columbus for cash.
  21. Outstanding as usual. Hope she doesn't get co-opted though. To repeat a recent idea I had: Sabres hire Melody, let her have editorial freedom to create the music she wants.
  22. A bit much, wouldn't you say? This is the Effin N.H.L. "Maybe he'll be good" doesn't cut it. The hockey world is the Pegulas' oyster, and they cast a net just far enough to get hangers-on, alumni, fine young Pegula People, the otherwise unemployable. Garbage owners. It's clear that's never going to change. (And I'd like to meet the "natural" player who curtsied his way into the professional ranks. I'd suggest he doesn't exist.)
  23. *****. It's convenient, that's for sure. Have fun, gents!
  24. My guess is he's still trying to figure out how one train can leave Chicago and one train can leave New York and travel in opposite directions. Trains can't go across water.
