  1. Krueger mentioned "attitude and work ethic" in his pregame comments. That would seem to answer the question.
  2. Is the answer simple enough that we have a mix of offensive players who need the time and space that a power play affords, but they can't function at even strength when the NHL game is tighter than %^&**'s &$$%^^?
  3. Weird theories? That Terry is involved in the Sabres' hockey ops? It's not exactly Roswell/Area 51 stuff. If the charge is being involved in the day to day operations (short of the charge of meddling), it's an open and shut case. Was it Kim or was it Botterill who revealed that Terry talked to the GM every day, up to three times a day? That's daily involvement. You have Terry watching game film. Terry sitting up top next to the assistant coach. Terry sitting at various tables and in various war rooms. Terry admitting that free agent signings were his idea. Darcy saying that Terry would decide the extent of the rebuild. Terry going to the GM side and Kim going to business side when they enter the building. This isn't a question. He's involved. Heavily.
  4. The Sabres have led the league in PP twice in their history. They've never finished above 30%. The high water mark is 27.4% in 74-75, which was good for third in the league.
  5. The buttoned-up, sphincter-squeezing corporate culture of these people. Killjoys. No... murderjoys.
  6. Correct. He was doing The Dunleavy. Then he claimed he knew Linus had made the save, while Rob still thought it was a goal. Bizarre.
  7. That sequence in the first period last night was unbelievable. Whose memory is good enough to rank such things, but it would have to be up there in team history. Sadly, Dan did not pay proper homage to it. "Hischier!" Silence.
  8. Good read. A little loose-goosey with the facts, but, hey, it's ArtVoice. https://artvoice.com/2021/02/25/buffalo-sabres-the-pegula-era-hits-ten-years-by-andrew-kulyk-and-peter-farrell/
  9. We don't have much 'round here. Please don't take our last little bit from our sippy cups.
  10. 1. I am not stalking you. 2. I wouldn't discount some psychic connection. I mean we're all in each others' heads anyway. I honestly don't know why kitchen reno came to me. Weird.
  11. Are we sure the benching is RaKru's call and not KeAda's?
  12. You must feel like I did when I tried to tell people Pegula was trash, to be feared and loathed.
  13. Especially when you consider what the rulebook says. The puck, while on the stick, must make contact with the red line.
  14. He couldn't have been a better shooter last season? Why do people say he had the best year of his career? Sorry, Jack, pull that horseshoe out.
  15. In other news, husbands every day are being forced to agree to kitchen renos.
  16. I don't buy the unlucky angle. To buy it, you have to believe that a certain percentage of shots are SUPPOSED to go in. Says who? Does not talent play the biggest part of that result? Why is Jack's shooting percentage so low this season? Bad luck? Give Bubba Watson 10 five-foot putts. The average pro golfer makes 9.5 of them. He makes six. Is he unlucky?
  17. I don't understand the reference. I tried the google too.
  18. For some reason, I hear this post in the voice of an old-timey, nasal-y radio announcer.
  19. This is the best takedown of the asininity of analytics that I've seen. Well done. Stop counting. Start watching.
  20. I'll open with three: 1. The coast to the bench. I know the rule about the exiting player needing to be three feet from the bench is not strictly applied, but still you're losing a second or two for the entering player. The optics are terrible. That said, it's an established and accepted way of leaving the ice. 2. Same issue — coasting on the backcheck. See Gilmour, Doug and one of the worst days of our hockey lives. Also well established and seemingly accepted. 3. This one will probably stroke me out some day if the Sabres ever get back into the playoffs — four seconds left in a period, the puck down below the Sabres' goal line, defenseman grabs the puck, unchallenged, and rings it up the boards onto the stick of an opposing player for a screaming shot at the Buffalo net. Go ahead. Unburden yourself. You are amongst friends.
  21. Am I to understand someone sits and watches a game and counts posts/crossbards hit? Or is it a league/team stat?
  22. *****-shrinkers.
