RJ States this will be His Final Year Announcing Sabres Games

Rick's non announcer voice has always sounded crummy. -
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/index.htm Things are picking up in Florida and Georgia. Define "last few years." There was very little flu this past season.

True. We've been treated to pizza from the local KofC and a local BBQ truck set up with free meals. It's enormously meaningful.

And he'll say maybe he'll sit down after the season with Cupcake... -
You said they stubbled on him. I'll show myself out.

Yes. (Incoming summer rerun: and the PA guy, the anthem singer, the horn, the organist who played Closing Time when the opponent scored an empty net goal, the mascot; just eradicate every sight and sound associated, unfairly, with losing. And, yes, for now that probably includes Sabre Dance, which is still played often at games.) So McDermott is the corner of the coffeetable. Interesting. I hadn't thought of him that way.

Of course they still exist — https://www.google.com/search?q=portable+radio&source=lnms&tbm=shop&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj9vcS1tsXyAhUFKVkFHf8FDeEQ_AUICCgB -

I think I'd rather be there and directly show appreciation. I owe him at least that much. Of course one could listen from one's seat. At least I think so. Not on a smart phone, which would be delayed, but with a portable radio. I honestly have no idea if such a gizmo still exists. -
In terms of enough time, is the McBeane analogy apt? In year one, they cleaned house to a fair extent and unexpectedly took the team to the playoffs. In year 2, a step back. In year 3, the playoffs again. Year 4 — contenders. Or is NHL vs. NFL too much apples vs. oranges? Adams does seem to be doing a pretty good BB impression.

I'm starting to feel the Flyers game. Would Rick himself rather close with Philly, which has some obvious historic appropriateness, or Chicago? (The Isles game works for this angle, too, given the early playoff matchups between the teams.) Also, assuming there's going to be a whole night devoted to Rick, how would that work on Fan Appreciation Night? PHILLY! And I'm suddenly so confident, I will wager that bet with @Taro T. (The charity is my account at The Hair Club for "Men.")

None of which, of course, can be put into a spreadsheet, which is why it's discounted by some.
-
Seems like thousands. And I wouldn't bet against the Hawks game, assuming no playoffs. I have no horse in this race.
-
All games will be broadcast from the arena.
-
Give it a whirl, sonny.
-
I added a very necessary choice. Maybe because Dan is calling more home games than he is. It's not a no-brainer. I don't see why Rick would necessarily get the last game.
-
Apparently I've zoomed right ahead to acceptance — or I'm in a form of bargaining (God, make Rick reconsider after the season or at least agree to do any Cup-clinching games in the future, assuming vital signs allow). Anywho... I'm not sure. Chicago seems like a good fit on a Friday with the assurance of a decent crowd that will be Rick-friendly, even if they're in Hawks sweaters. Philly works as well. I hope it's sold out. And raucous for Rick.
-
He's a yinzer born in Cali. You can ask Arnold Slick for more info. And his craft aged much, much better than Rick's. Remarkable skill right up to the end. You will die on this hill. I will die in a nearby fracking pit.

Like, ch-yeah, duh, who doesn't know this? FTR, I thought it was a paper towel reference.

Rick to call 20 games, all at home, per TBN. -
So as the rest of us get executed at dawn, you have a direct line to the governor?

Rick did — I think. It's been awhile since I looked into this, but he was the voice of the 1969-1970 Buffalo Bisons team that won the Calder Cup.
