  1. This makes no sense. Sorry. Compare apples to apples.
  2. Can he be unofficially recalled?
  3. What's the goal of Pride Night?
  4. The dreaded run to end the season. They already ran. That's all you need to know about this group.
  5. Paywall for me but the snippet on the Sabres Report page of this site seems to suggest Lance has a way for the Sabres to get CLOSER to the playoffs next year. Wait for it. Pod.
  6. The warden should have.
  7. I'll give you a facile answer. If you had told Barry Trotz "go make the playoffs," the arena bunting would be stacked in the corridors. One of my fave memories of the Aud... The playoff bunting. And yes it's unfair of me. I think I'm mad at Don for things he can't control.
  8. Terry Pegula: "I'm a Football Guy" - Buffalo Bills https://www.buffalobills.com/video/terry-pegula-i-m-a-football-guy-13970610
  9. People think I'm a hockey guy but I'm a football guy. There just happened to be a hockey team for sale. Decent paraphrase. Will try to find the actual quote.
  10. When or if the Sabres are ever going on playoff runs, DG will not be the coach. That's evident to me. He probably knows it too. He was given a job and has done it well enough. We're starting to see signs he's taken this team as far as it will go. The question is how cold hearted and rational KA wants to be. I'd have no problem with a new coach next fall (duh). Go get an established winner and make a definitive statement. I wouldn't be fooled into thinking the young core is in love with DG. They are mini corporations and want to make money and want to win. Likely what KA will need is a pretense to fire... Slow start next season for example. Or missing the playoffs again. Of course that'll put KA on the hot seat too.
  11. There's no cottage industry like the prospect cottage industry like no industry I knoooooooow...
  12. This is for @JohnC too... Does KA have a co conspirator in DG? I mean DG just talked about how defensive teams aren't feared, how scoring is fun for the players and fans, etc. High event hockey.
  13. Pro tip: taco dip freezes beautifully. It was all made in 2003.
  14. "this team" is the operative phrase. No one would deny spending in the past. It's taken as a given that being a cap floor team now is strategic and will not be modus operandi going forward. As in all things, we'll just have to wait and see. No one in Sabres hockey has any credit in the bank. Show us the full flowering of the process.
  15. A little hazy on the streak. No need to explain. It doesn't matter. I know that this is the first time HCDG has had an NHL team on the verge of the playoffs near the end of the season. There's nothing worse in his tenure to look back on to give any assurance he knows how to get out of the current situation. He may very well do so. I mean... Any day now, coach.
  16. I wonder where the bring RJ onto the ice Sabres went. It's a good lesson for the kids out there: year to year improvement is not a cinch. Individual growth? Sure. Some nice numbers and some big contracts. It happened in the context of no defensive system to speak of and no focus on or concern about winning. Recipe for what we've ended up seeing this month IMHO.
  17. So other than being unable to score and keep the puck out of their own goal, they are fine. Got it.
  18. I was in and out of consciousness by then, but I think Don said as a coach he's been in situations like this or worse than this and got out of it. No, he hasn't.
  19. Then the Preds scored 24 seconds after Cozens. Dan's the man.
  20. Dan doesn't know what cutting a lead in half is. He and Duff have the uncanny ability to add to the pain.
