Somehow, I don't think people are going to be happy about this: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/michigan-board-approves-new-red-wings-arena-in-downtown-detroit-despite-citys-bankruptcy/article13399759/

She's planning a huge expose to regain some media cred.

Yeah, that was one of the first really big bridges I drove over when I was younger. I got the extra-surprise version by ending up on the lower level, so I was driving into a hill and suddenly I'm 200ft over the Hudson. Last time I was over it was a couple years ago on a windy night, in the rain, on the bike. I chose the lower level thinking that it would be dry(er), but at every joint in the pavement above there was a 45 degree water fall from right to left. Each time I got to one I did my best to dodge left of right to avoid taking the water directly on the helmet. Still very cool to look down and see the water that far below. Why was I doing this? I had never been to the Dinosaur BBQ in Manhattan. That's as good a reason as any, right?

Don't you blaspheme in here.

I think the first post informs the second.

FLRN was the closest I ever got to ignore. If the esteemed Mr. Kruse had kept it up for a few more days, I think I would have done it.

I have an acquaintance that's a Marine Engineer, the scale of those diesels is astonishing. Hatchways to climb inside the cylinders for maintenance...

I'm confused here, the study seems to say that CRS causes Autism, so the vaccine would be a good idea. Is that what you meant in the first paragraph? It reads like you're saying the vaccine causes it. Be careful with studies, one of the ones (the only one?) that links vaccines and autism had a sample set of 12 kids (IIRC). That's not even close to meaningful.

That one is quite good!

Congrats, you've thrown enough conspiracy theories up that one has almost kinda not been wrong.

So linked from that article: http://b.vimeocdn.com/ts/159/323/159323585_640.jpg If it's breast cancer awareness, how come the face-off dots are hearts and not boobs?

My wife and I sat for most of an episode debating whether it was the same actress or not. -

I probably should have said 40% of people that enjoy watching the news, and that's based on my rough perception of hardcore-left, hardcore-right, middle road split. I'll restate: Fox has the "monopoly" on right-leaning cable news. Several other outlets run the spectrum from kinda-middle to rather-lefty, and as such split up the remainder of the demographic. I'll use a tech example: For awhile (and maybe now) Apple was the leading manufacturer of smart phones even though far more Android devices were being sold overall. Apple is the only manufacturer of iPhones, whereas Samsung, Motorola, LG, HTC, and others were splitting up the Android Market.

FWIW, Fox speaks to, say, 40% of the population (I'm spitballing here, someone have the Neilson numbers?). The other 3-5 large news channels and broadcast news divvy up the other 60%. Assuming they all use similar-sized staffs (I wouldn't think # of viewers has an effect on operations), I'd be shocked if Fox wasn't making more profit.

Then, suddenly the man thought to be Martin Mull pulls off his glasses and exclaims, "Gene Parmesan, private detective." Powell Carter uncharacteristcally screams like a little girl, "You got me again!" -

Kovalchuk? Where's DeLuca? :) (DeLuca was right, I think Kovalchuk turned out better for NJ than I expected. But this is just silly.)
