  1. Oh stop it with that .....Ruff was noticeably tougher on Vanek than others. He is a streaky scorer and always has been. He also plays through alot of injuries .....
  2. P Ham said it best: this season is not a fluke. Management is in denial. We see the same patterns over & over & over, with no change in sight; blown leads, inability to play a 60 minute game, tanking in the 2nd period, etc. Is T Pegs in denial ? Three words: BLOW IT UP
  3. Well that is so very reassuring..... DR the spin meister.
  4. I doubt that was BMore's point in referencing Kozlov; are you not aware of his enmity toward Buffalo before and on his way out the door? I am sure Patrick Roy is really applauding the Sabres mismanagement of Grigo, i.e., putting him on a line with offensive juggernauts like J Scott. not sniffing the ice in the 3rd period.
  5. Actually I re-thought my statement and agree with you from a financial perspective; let's just hope any possible ego will not get in the way and he does the right thing. The more I read from media sources outside Buffalo as well, it has become common knowledge that this crime scene has DR's fingerprints all over it.
  6. 1 have 3 opinions: 1 is a micro view. 2 are a macro view: Micro: we are a mess defensively; not trying to get overly technical here, but it seems we are stuck playing a zone-type defense where guys are assigned to spaces rather than taking the body, hence the appearance that opposing players are getting teed up in wide open space. Plus we already know the special-teams horror. Macro: as PHam stated on WGR very succintly, management of this team is in denial, as if this mess is a temporary aberration. I was blown away to hear this but it makes sense and I agree 100% TPegs extension of DR ties his hands and calls into question his professional judgment - when wil he pull the trigger to flush DR?
  7. of course not, why would RR even think of giving him a shift in the 3rd? Let's also start him on a line with J Scott, that's scoring mayhem waiting to happen...... :wallbash:
  8. Excellent point - there was zero reason to dress Scott after NJ sent Janssen back down to Albany. I am not overly impressed with RR so far, I'm really not. He seems to be of the Chan Gailey school of trying to outsmart himself. And yeah, keep Grigo buried on the 4th line with Scott - that makes no sense, esp. after the last 2 games where Grigo/Hecht/? played well together as a line Keep it simple stupid.....KISS who would that have been for NJ after Janssen got sent down? The Devils has lost 5 in a row or something like that - so winning the game tonight had to have been their top priority by far - not getting chippy with Buffalo you nailed it - a bad coaching decision. When I heard Scott was in over Hecht at 5 pm today, I thought about it then as bad decision as I do now. I am so pissed I just want to scream but it doesn't matter a damn bit Nothing will change until Pegs fires DR, gets a real GM/HC, cuts the dead wood, and this team is restructured properly.
  9. and I really am questioning RR's personnel/line decisions.... Big John Scott had a whopping 4:47 of TOI.....how'd that work out for you Ronny ?
  10. the Sabres are really starting to resemble the Bills in one way - they find numerous ways to blow leads & lose games. 2 goal lead with 10 minutes left? Not a lock with this team .....and this phenomenon has been going on for how many years now? Oh, what a time to be a Buffalo sports fan....talk about masochism
  11. So sorry, was busy feeding my 2 yr old daughter after working a 12 hour day. I guess I am not worthy because I posted too late for someone's liking.... Priorities dude, priorities....spare me
  12. hasn't poor rebound control always been a trademark of Enroth? not trying to pile on but that seems to be my recollection. Anyhew, anyone know how many blown leads the Sabres have racked up this year? They have to be at the top of the league (worst) Anyone watch Stafford coast through the slot on the game-tying goal? No effort whatsoever to take a body or get close to the rebound.....just awful
  13. you were incredulous he got hurt from not being hit, There are plenty of other ways to get injured, that was my point.
  14. there goes Rob Ray congratulating the sabres on another loss - way to get that loser point. Pathetic. And then RJ says what an important point to get. Retarded.
  15. how do you know he hyperextended the joint? was it reported ?
  16. are you really that dense? He obviously pulled a muscle or hip flexor trying to get back across the crease...... :wallbash:
  17. Good take Sizzle, well-done.....to the bolded part I would say that some, if not all 4, of the examples you cited are still occurring with RR., i.e., Grigo mired on the 4th line, poor match ups (Gerbe/Ennis vs. the Staal line?), questionable lines. I really hope RR is smart enough to figure this stuff out, because it is addressable.
  18. Ok Mr. Snarky, hate to break it to you but they are not given the frequency with which Hoff misses the net. You missed my point, I said occasionally it would make sense to miss the net. Not sure how much clearer I could be.
  19. No, I do not - and I doubt they are. Maybe in a few cases but not on the whole. You can't tell me a full windup from the top of the circle against Lundqvist on a 5 on 3 PP in OT was designed to miss the net.
  20. I disagree - as I mentioned in another thread, Hoff's shots from the point on the PP either hit the goalie squarely in the chest (w/ no screen, I might add), or 5 feet high or wide of the net. I haven't been too impressed with his shot. Yes, it is a cannon but has not been well-placed this season (so far....). Hoping Vanek's return with light a fire for the PP. He has the sickest hand/eye coordination I have seen.
