  1. a very succinct, objective, accurate opinion or at least he SHOULD HAVE known....
  2. I never said he hit him high. I was referring to Richards' body position when he was hit by Kaleta, not where Kaleta hit him. It was obvious Kaleta hit him in the small of the back - that was not the problem. It caused Richards to go face first into the boards as opposed to getting hit from the side.
  3. yes I did watch the replay - several times. I stand by my opinion. You just can't do that.
  4. I don't believe your hypothetical would happen because I have never seen Richards do what Kaleta did. If he has, I stand corrected and my answer would be the same as what Kaleta got.
  5. OK, keep on drinking the Kool Aid. This is the kind of garbage that the league is trying to get rid of. Doesn't matter if Richards' "sold" it - look at the position he was in when Kaleta hit him - fully face first toward the glass. my earlier point exactly - thank you
  6. yes I did watch the replay - several times. I stand by my opinion. You just can't do that.
  7. My takeaways from the game: - no moral victory getting the loser point. We gave it away with Kaleta's stupidity and I hope he does apologize to his teammates. I do hope he gets suspended and fully expect he will. - spare me the 3 games in 4 nights BS, the Sabres showed no signs of fatigue and played an excellent game w/ the exception of their embarrassing PP and Kaleta. To not score on a 2 man PP in OT is inexcusable. - Rayzor as an analyst will not say anything remotely critical of the team and that is weak. no mention of the terrible PP and that is painfully obvious. - RJ is really slipping; he butchered the description of the 2 man advantage in OT on more than one occasion and tried to equate Girardi's hit with Kaleta's.
  8. and yes it cost us at least one goal - one that we could not afford given our pathetically anemic "power play"
  9. You are kidding, right? Trying to defend Kaleta really makes no sense, esp. given his rep. Last time I checked, guys don't voluntarily throw themselves head first into the boards. Here the question: would we feel the same if the roles were reversed? And please don't tell me Girardi's hit on Ennis was the same, because it wasn't. +1
  10. Would sure like to know what this plan involves - right now it seems as though the "plan" is a complete cluster
  11. 1) loved Gerbe going after Zidlicky - how can you not love the effort & fearlessness ? 2) re: Ehrhoff on the PP, his shots from the point seems to either miss the net completely (and not by a little...) or he shoots right into the goalie's chest. One reason our PP is in the tank .......
  12. I really like Pardy's game. Simple, settling, & effective.
  13. I can't for the life of me understand how they are misusing Grigo - claiming he has to "earn his minutes" while sticking him on the ice for 6 minutes a game with 2 jamokes; talk about a no-win situation - he is being set up to fail. He can't "earn his minutes" with no skill players whereby he is just skating around in circles. Why not get him some time on the PP - can it be any worse than it is now ? It pisses me off to watch the coaching of this team put really odd combinations together and expect them to work.....
  14. sorry, don't like to nitpick, but this is what a healthy scratch is for ......
  15. I disagree - Miller was super but he was not the sole reason for the win. per Garth : "Their entries were clean, their recoveries were timely, and their zone time increased because of their lack of turnovers.....The Sabres played their first complete, sixty minute game for the first time in weeks. They were strong in the first period. They withstood the storm in period two. They played stout and strong in the third period. In the final analysis, the Buffalo PK saved the day, going 6 for 6 on kills."
  16. Your dream analysis = general discussion? ..... Alriiiiiighty then Just busting on you, no moderation on my part More important fish to fry, like the state of our sorry team
  17. That is really spectacular.... (( GDT I thought??
  18. you can't expect to win games scoring 1 goal, regardless. Giving up a goal to make it 1-1 was not the reason they lost this game. I don't think this team has any emotion at all
  19. I think the problems with Ruff & the current squad run a lot deeper than even the most skeptical of us would suggest. On Sylvester's Hockey Hotline show today, a caller was relaying a story how he was having dinner with his wife at a local restaurant and they were seated near a table of 2 unnamed, younger Sabres & their families. The 2 players were bitching audibly about Ruff, which to me says alot. Workplace dissension about one's manager is not uncommon at all, but the fact that 2 members of a pro sports team felt compelled to bitch in public - within earshot - tells me alot. All this being said, my glass half-full opinion is this: the current Sabres should feel they got their coach fired. They are now exposed, and the cozy feeling they had because they felt R&R were untouchable is now gone. No one should feel unexpendable now. I strongly feel the talent is there but it has been compromised by ongoing mental mistakes, lack of effort, and a fear of failure. I say that goes away starting tonight.
  20. Yours points are well-taken and may in part describe the Sabres, however, these points are still not the root ("systematic") of the fundamental physical & mental mistakes these players are making: time and time again. Something's got to give - Pegula the superfan has to act like a real owner.
