You failed to include a pretty major point - that he was benched for 2/3 of the game due to a stupid penalty he took. Our interim coach thought it appropriate to "send a message" by treating him like a 5th grader and in so doing, attempting to assert his flawed authority over this team of loafers. As other posters have pointed out, 2-3 shifts would have fine to send a message, but not 2 periods. Get a grip.
