  1. Please define - explicitly. The "system" term gets used like a rented mule on this board. As other posters have pointed out, the system does not cause players to miss the broad side of a barn - alot; it does not cause piss poor face off losses; it does not cause guys to try to stckhandle 1 into 3 or 4; it does not cause the horrid inability to make tape to tape passes; it does not cause guys to have brain farts over and over with poor positioning & blown assigments, or careless cross-ice turnovers......ad nauseum.
  2. I believe what Miller says as heartfelt & honest...... Pominville, not so much; he sounds like a broken (cliche) record
  3. Then what may I ask do you do when forced to consume an inferior product, repeatedly? Do you say thanks, may I have another?
  4. Rayzor just totally called our Hecht for bailing and giving up on the puck - said he has to take a hit. Good work Rayzor, keep it coming. You have not been critical enough for my liking.
  5. So I am reading this board while eating on my way back home from a business trip. I haven't seen one second of this game but reading these comments tells me this is another wretched game by the Sabres. A firing tomorrow perhaps if this continues as is ? Oh, and as I am writing this post I looked up and saw the score 2-0. Terrific.
  6. errrrr.....one problem: Allan Muir is nowhere near to being a Quebecois....... :wallbash:

that magical 9th spot? could I have some of what you're smoking.....?...... From the link you cited, here is a dead-on assessment of the state of our organEYEzation......I am always very interested in what the national media has to say: "I'm a Lindy Ruff fan, but honestly, you have to ask: Hasn't this guy overstayed his welcome? Nothing personal, but Buffalo's longtime coach doesn't seem able to light a fire under his players anymore. The Sabres play boneheaded, careless hockey too often, with major defensive breakdowns and little scoring from the bottom lines. Thomas Vanek --- leading the league with 19 points and on pace for 47 goals and 111 points -- can't do it all by himself. Buffalo's 33 goals-against is tied for most in the NHL. When does this team make a change behind the bench? Or does Ruff have the job for life?"
  8. so Ted Black said that we'd all be amazed if we knew the various deals Darcy has been trying to cook up. I would sure like to be a fly on the wall and find out. The current iteration of the Sabres is too defensively poor to make the playoffs....and we again are in the mode of counting the points to lock up that 8th seed.
  9. Rayzor: "that is the best fight I've seen in 2 years"........epic
  10. The result of Hodgson turning the puck over behind his own net - got his pocket picked. He remains a glaring defensive liability.
  11. something's got to give. I have been watching Sabres hockey for 35+ years and I cannot recall feeling less inspired by what I am seeing (and not seeing) on the ice. Not sure if firing Ruff would do the trick, though a case could be made that this crew has tuned him out. I'd say a big trade would be the play to show that no one is safe. Too much coasting on this team.
  12. if you are on DirecTV, try ch. 638, that is the MSG feed. Problem solved. Dougie - exactly my point; better than Dick I suppose
  13. yeah, his gestures after scoring a goal are annoying as hell
  14. I would like to see some real tape to tape passing and shots which actually hit the net - too much to ask ?
  15. apparently not - I'll need to make sure I work that into my schedule going forward.... :flirt: jk - I hear what you are saying
  16. watch Stafford on the Habs' 4th goal and tell me with a straight face that was "the system"..... he tried a lame stick check inside his own blue line which led to the goal....that was sheer lack of positioning & effort. This board is a joke. I didn't see any complaints about "the system" during the win over the Bruins.
