  1. Totally agree - just ruffling some feathers. It's why I find TSW difficult to read, every thread eventually turns into the EJ sucks/EJ supporter arguement. They can be talking about coaching, special teams, other NFL teams, etc. but it always turns into that.
  2. Sorry I don't consider either of them to be in any way contributing to the tank. Enroth had a stretch where his save % was near .950. Both goalies routiney see north of 40 shots a game and still have perfored relatively admirably. While the Sabres were in 27th/28th, the goaltending was average laguewide, compared to the EDM and CAR teams which were bottom five in sv% at that time.
  3. Yep. We just need you to come up with the faction names. The battle lines have been drawn. There is no abandoning your position. The next 180 days will be all out civil war. After the draft we can all laugh about it at the end of season wine mixer.
  4. True. there was no clear tank commander post-Leino. Ufortunately an arguement could be made for Hodgson, Mezaros, Benoit and a host of others. Too many tank commanders!
  5. I smell a gang fight on par with the bloods and the crypts. The tanks and the... uh... non-tanks? (cue LGR posting a youtube video of Rebecca Black's 'Gang Fight')
  6. Well I would assume Nikita scored more this past week than he has all season. This pleases Nikita
  7. You're just mad Nikita was suspended. It's been a week, we're all a little rusty. ;)
  8. Totally agree. I like the GDTs as well. Just wanted to guage the thoughts of the group. Besides, how is anyone going to catch D4rk without padding their post count by posting "Goal" or "Stafford sucks" in the GDT?
  9. Yeah, it's amazing how Derek Roy has improved that team in the short term. However, I think that cap hit and term are really scaring away anyone. It reminds me of the Gomez and Redden situations a few years back. With the salary cap those contract albatrosses aren't nearly as appealing as they used to be, regardless of the players talent.
  10. Have we all decided that this is nothing and it is just an official designation so the team can use his roster spot until he rejoins the team? His flight got bumped people, it's not like he's blowing coke or beating up cab drivers.
  11. Yep. Those samoas and thin mints aren't going to sell themselves... :nana:
  12. So are we using the AIM chat (Press Box) for the GDT now or are we still kickin it old school and using the thread?
  13. My uncontrollable vomit has lead to dry heaving. It's not pretty.
  14. LTS, I appreciate your arguement and understand what you are getting at. What I think most posters around here are talking about with respect to talent dilution is getting the Matt Ellis type of players out of the league. There comes a point where if there are too many teams in a league, guys with no descernable positive trait are forced onto the NHL roster. Adding two more teams create 60 or so more jobs for players to fill in the NHL. Even if your team has a Crosby or some other star, the fans are going to become frustrated and not entertained watching a line of Matt Ellis, Cody Mac and Brain Flynn types out there bumbling around. They would still play 20-30% of the game. There's no speed, no skill and not much physicality there. Including these player levels as "NHL Talent" reduces the quality of the NHL product as a whole. The NHL product is great IMO when there is a non-stop pace of entertaining hockey. Having a higher cutoff threshold for NHL talent allows for a more continuous entertaining product, instead of heading for the bathroom waiting for your star player's next shift. Maybe it's just because I watch the Sabres primarily, but I think there are plenty of unentertaining 'filler' players in the NHL now. For another perspective, in youth sports, not many people want to watch the regular little league type games (unless your son or daughter is playing) because there are only 2-3 players who have any talent/competency. The rest are fillers and just taking up a position. Yet millions will tune in on ESPN for the LLWS because these same age kids are highly talented and skilled. There aren't many (if any) filler players at that level. If we could take only the top 10% of hockey players worldwide, it would be much more entertaining on a nightly basis.
  15. Misspelling of January. Although putting Cody McCormick on the ticket should be punishable as well. Might as well put Beano and Mess on there at this point.
  16. Even when your nickname turns out to be ######? Really?! Peck-er
  17. This would be the perfect time for that Iginla or Shane Doan trade that SabreSpace was clamoring for a few years back. Someone who could score and could protect the kid a bit. Dustin Brown? /ducks again
  18. Agreed on the right wings being ugly, but replacing Mitchell with a legitimate top 6 RW would make this team look a lot more competitive. Think of a Moulson type RW who can score 20-30 goals (not named Drew Stafford). Still very young, but at least potential enough to not get outshot by 20 each game.
  19. It's the most obvious troll job i've ever seen. He knows if he writes that all of the frustrated hockey fans in Buffalo and Alberta are going to spam his comment box with hate. Right after reading the article and giving him clicks. Meanwhile, the people in Arizona and Carolina will continue to look forward to next year's football season.
  20. My dad always told me that the backup name they had for me was Justin Case. To be used just in case they couldn't think of a name when I was born. #LameDadJokes
  21. IMO there is no way he decides to return unless he has some sort of indication from Meyer that he will be starting. IIRC, the other two OSU qbs are far enough along in their college careers where they can transfer without penalty. Might see that from one of them rather than wait it out.
  22. Wow. All complaints seem miniscule compared to this gem. :nana: I bought a car from the ADESA auction the day before christmas to replace my old car which is currently non-functional due to a busted tranny. My uncle has experience with the car auctions and was informing me on the intricacies of the process. Ended up purchasing an '07 Pontiac G6 for $4k (market value on KBB is 6.5-7k). Great deal right? One of the caveats was the title was attached, meaning the dealer didn't bring it with him so it would need to be mailed/sent at a later date. My uncle assured me that he had bought plenty of title attached cars and they usually arrived within the week. All good. It is now nearly a month later and still no title. Which means I can't drive my new car and have been car-less for the past month. Still waiting on the dealer to send the title - dealer indicated that it is Wells Fargo Bank's fault as the sale lien has not yet cleared. I just want to drive my car and stop taking the bus to work. F public transportation. Especially when I have a perfectly good car waiting to be driven taunting me at my uncle's shop.
  23. #4 is a much better way to not want to stab your eyes out with a dull spoon. I'd go with that.
  24. Just get out your microscope you lazy bastage! It was from a PM from X, so maybe i'm the only one allowed to see it?
  25. That question was asked my Mehta from the NY Daily News. He was obviously jsut trying to get a rise out of him by asking him Jets based questions. I think there is no interest whatsoever in a Sanchez reunion. Listening to their answers it sounds like they are holding back on revealing thier plans for the QB and offense. It seems like there is a much bigger plan than just a Sanchez/Locker type. Especially given his answer regarding the offense being aggressive.
