Pretty sure you flipped your stats.

Agreed. Wonder just how much/if Pilut coming back changed the plan. Of course, he could very well be in Detroit's top 6. Expect he'll at least have a shot at it barring additional moves.
-
They keep forgetting Dadonov.

With all the tweeners Adams picked up yesterday plus Pilut coming back, expect Adams was expecting this. But still disappointed by it. He'd've been ideal as the 7. Fitzgerald & Pilut breathing a sigh of relief now. Barring another move they're pretty much locked in at 7 & 8. UPL & Subban can't be happy about it.

Here's the full recap of the episode. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0539922/ And here's him filming the commercial. Couldn't find a clip of him buying it all up after getting hypnotized. Sorry.

That's the way it's written in the CBA, but the league lets teams place a player on BF-LTIR on day 1 and if the team isn't over the cap by more than that LTIR'd salary they seem to let it fly even though they may not have made the paper transaction of waiving a bunch of young guys to be cap compliant w/out having that particular contract on LTIR.

Alrighty then. Thought it was Woody Boyd stocking up on Veggie Boy, but maybe you beat him to it?

Sabres Sign UFA Goalie Eric Comrie 2 Years 1.8 Million AAV
Taro T replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
0.893. Not 0.863. At a time when the league was MUCH different. And as explained, that 2.60 was one of the absolute best in the entire NHL. -
Not sure that Cernak will ever be considered elite, but the other 2 might w/ Sergachev having a very good chance at it.
-
Again, according to Puckipedia (formerly NHL Numbers), he signed at age 19. So, he's waiver exempt for 4 years (could've dropped to 3 had he played enough NHL games as a 19 yo - spoiler alert, he didn't). His 1st pro year was '18-'19 so he's played his 4 years and now will have to clear waivers to be sent down moving forward.
-
He may have been "essentially" a "nobody" to people that didn't know the game well, but he sure as #### was NEVER A SCRUB. That's what you said & stood by- he was considered a scrub. And are you REALLY holding being stuck behind the Iron Curtain against him? Because the only reason he hadn't earned his way to more NHL time is he had only recently come to NA and he had the misfortune of landing on the team that had the phenom Belfour ahead of him. Suppose Steve Young was a "nobody" or a "scrub" because he was stuck behind Montana. Your first shovel looks to be getting a bit dull. Would you like another to keep digging?

And guess what the best GAA in the NHL was in '90-'91? 2.47. The TENTH best GAA was 3.05. Hmm, had Hasek had enough games played, where would he have fit in the leader board? '91-'92: Roy was miles ahead of the pack at 2.36. Belfour was 2nd at 2.70. And 10th best was 3.18. Hmm, where would Dom's 2.60 have fit in had he played enough games? In the IHL in '90-'91, there were exactly 2 teams w/ GAA's below 3.56. Indy's average was 3.21 and Peoria's was 3.18. More than 1/2 the teams had a GAA OVER 4.00. Still think that 2.52 wasn't near the top of the leader board? The next year, KC was just over 3.00 (3.02l but no other team averaged under 3.50. The Ice team GAA was one of only 2 above 4.00 (when Dom was at 3.56 in 20 games) and both of those over 4.00 GAA teams missed the playoffs. And 6 NHL playoff wins in only 7 decisions? Sure screams "scrub," right? Would you like to dig further into your hole?

Actually, this is his 5th pro season, but 19 YO's (per Puckapedia his age when he signed) are only waiver exempt for 4 seasons. So, he has to clear waivers to be an Amerk.
-
Tokarski might head there for a Stealers - Bungles game but he's getting ready to eat his fries in his burger as he's now a Pen.
-
He also seems to think UPL needs to face more shots as there isn't a D-first D-man among them. UPL & Subban must be praying Fitzgerald doesn't end up in Buffalo.
-
They likely do. But 2 prior coaching staffs used all their expertise & experience to watch him & help him to play barely NHL quality hockey. And coaches consistently try to force square pegs into round holes. Until there are enough other players on the roster that the overall play of the team is improved by sliding him to W, and personally really doubt that happens, don't want to see him anywhere near a W. His game isn't winning board battles.
-
For the love of all that is good & Holy, please no. Just no. Did they watch any tape on him prior to last year?

Sabres Sign UFA Goalie Eric Comrie 2 Years 1.8 Million AAV
Taro T replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Thought for this stat it was divided by that thing that rhymes with orange. Or was that the offensive goaltending advanced stat metric. It gets SOOOOO confusing. -
Leaving Adams essentially hanging in the wind. Guess he has to figure out how much faith he has in Johnson's proclamation about wanting to sign eventually. Does he feel that it's likely enough that a '24 late 2nd rounder or him signing in the spring is worth more than he could get between now & the trade deadline? Would expect he knows which direction seems best but doubt we'll know for a while.

Sabres Sign UFA D-Man. Update the Sabres Bought Him A Printer
Taro T replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
For today, in all likelihood. When FAs that couldn't find homes and/or teams start to realize it's time to make the moves to have a cap compliant roster, there'll be something else happen. -
General Sabres FA discussion thread (f/k/a Random free agent posts)
Taro T replied to Archie Lee's topic in The Aud Club
Doubt they get in either, but see 90 as being realistic. Don't care that the Otters & Detroit got better. Sabres can still split w/ them. That's only 7 games and they'll likely split regardless. There's only 4 forwards on this team as currently assembled that should be expected to slide back some due to age (Okposo, Girgensons, Skinner, & Hinostroza) and all 4 might not if they can stay healthy (unlikely for Z and Vinny but the other 2 have been solid recently healthwise). 1 other that could slide back because last year was such a career year (Thompson). The rest should be better & having plugs like Eakin & Hayden off the roster lead to upgrades as well. The current D that were here last year should all improve over last year & the Russian could add something they really didn't have outside of Samuelsson (& Hagg to a degree) - an actual competent stay at home D-man. The GTing is upgraded, though likely not enough to make the move we'd hope for. Yes, the other 2 squads will be better. But how long will it take to integrate the new bodies into the collective? Fully expect the Sabres to have a typical October. Will the other 2 come out of the gate hot? -
Guess that's the guy Bryson needs to beat out at present. Wonder if this has any impact on the Pilut situation? Likely Ra-cha-cha bound?

Who?

Sabres Sign UFA Goalie Eric Comrie 2 Years 1.8 Million AAV
Taro T replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Yep. And hopefully Comrie > Anderson Anderson > Dell/Tokarski Subban >= Tokarski/Dell UPL >= UPL. None of which is a huge mountain to climb from last year. -
Sabres Sign UFA Defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin 2 Years 2.75 Million AAV
Taro T replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Huh? The 3rd D-man is Power. Hoping the 4 is the Russian and 5-6 are currently Bryson- Jokiharju. Fitzgerald is currently 7 though that likely will change.
