And pretty sure that theme for the naysayers of "they can't win unless they score more than 3" needs to be adjusted to "they can't win unless they score 3." Seems a minor point, but w/ 2 of those W's in an 8 day span, appears this team may be actually working on the defensive side of things. Might be a while before we see them get to demonstrate they can win scoring only 2 (Hasek's bread & butter) because there aren't all that many goalies that can shut them down like Shesterkin & Hellebuyck did.

And, perhaps management DID address the reason for that skid. Hinostroza is now scoring game winning goals for the Amerks & all of the 23 players still on the roster are able to fully participate both in all games & all practices.

Well, when most all the people that actually interact w/ her on a daily/semidaily basis are close family, caregivers subject to HIIPA restrictions, or servants most likely under NDAs, it isn't all that amazing. Good on her children for apparently honoring her wishes and not divulging in public her condition.

Even with the bad penalty by Krebs & the oops by Lyubushkin giving the Jets life & giving up the late empty netter, would say this was probably their most complete game of the year. They boxed out well most of the night but got away from it some in the 3rd but not for long. And they possessed the puck so well. Getting 3 on Hellybuck is impressive. Even though all the goals came w/ the top line &/or the top PP unit on the ice, the other 3 lines played well too & the Sabres could easily have had 6 against a normal goalie.

Considering it was likely the best period of hockey they've played all season, not that surprising. They played at a high level at both ends & in transition too. Boxing people out in front of Comrie. 4 & even 5 man cycles in the offensive zone. Dahlin literally EVERYWHERE. Fun period. Hoping the 3rd is as good.
