  1. Objecting at the rate, itself, would be no different than objecting at the rate now. Objections - and their subsequent deductions - are not adjustments to the rates, but rather to what is taxable. For example, if I am paying 40% on all my income and I give $100,000 to a charity, then that cost me 100000/(1-.4) = $166,667 in pre-tax income. I don't feel that I should be taxed on income that I give to a worthwhile cause, so make that deductible. My rate hasn't changed, per se, just what is taxed.
  2. Like others, if you had asked me what the unwritten rule was, I would have said: don't do this (bolded).
  3. This. Guy is pure effort and, unlike most such players that we've had since Drury, he's got great skills to go with it. He's only 24 (turns 25 in February) and is under contract for 6 more seasons after this one.
  4. :o
  5. "Considering" the list of demands does not mean that he is seriously thinking about actually doing it (at least, changing the name entirely; he may consider adding the first name and initial.) It's a very common way of saying, "I hear what you are saying and I am not dismissing your concerns outright," but rarely means that the demands end up actually be met. Often, "after careful consideration," some lesser action is taken (here, adding the first name and middle initial) or some "compromise" is reached.
  6. Depends a bit on where you live and what you want to buy. The vast majority of gun deaths are from pistols. Decide you want one today (say, in Monroe county), it would take 9-18 months, a background check (not just NICS), finger-printing, being on a registry, etc, to get one. Want a fully automatic rifle, a silencer or a rifle with a barrel less that 16"? Can't have one in NY (even outside NY, you can't have a FA weapon produced in the last 33 years, so you'll have to pay 10's of thousands of $'s to buy an old one.) All that said, I stand by my statement. LGR4GM implied that they aren't restricted, which is not true.
  7. Haven't bumped it a while. Things have spread out a bit. Unfortunately, the Sabres have be one of the teams to spread down.
  8. They are. You just want them to be more restricted.
  9. Watch a video of that "interview". He's signing things and somebody (doesn't even seem like an actual reporter) asks him some questions. It's pretty clear that he's not really paying attention to guy. Donald is talking about building a wall and making sure people enter legally. The guy asks about a database and from Trump's responses, he's thinking for anyone who enters the country on visas, etc. I did not get the impression that he actually wants to put all Muslims in the US in a database. Hopefully, that will be cleared up in an actual interview. Obviously, if I'm incorrect, then that's just plain wrong and he should be done. Remember, though, that both the Democrats and the Republican party are gunning for him, so everyone is jumping on this.
  10. I still can't figure out why Gionta didn't change. Jack changed pretty quickly into their OT shift and it seemed like Brian had a couple of chances to do the same after. He ended up more than double-shifting. I can't imagine that Bylsma told him to stay on during a 3-on-3.
  11. Alcohol ... 88,000 deaths per year (source: CDC study) ... exists purely for entertainment ... let's ban it ... oh wait ... :P
  12. I was going to point out that we are also below three non-playoffs year (2008-09, 2011-12 and 2012-13), so ... ;) As for 3-on-3, I though that they were going to do 5 min 4-on-4 followed by (if necessary) 5 minutes of 3-on-3. I would have preferred that. 3-on-3 is almost as cheesy as the shootout.
  13. A point was enough to move the 2015-16 Sabres ahead of the 2005-06 Sabres through 17 GP.
  14. Or not?
  15. I used to start the Playoffs chart at the beginning of the season. Last year, I didn't bother (can't remember if I did two years ago.) Figured that we should get back to business as usual.
  16. Swoon, ladies, swoon. Hip action like that and gonna get paid in a few ... dare I say Buffalo's most eligible bachelor?
  17. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, not yet, anyway. ;)
  18. No problem. I've been tracking since day 1 (a real pain if I get too far behind), but it takes a few weeks to look like anything useful.
  19. Ask ... wait a few days ... and receive.
  20. Back by d4rk request (again :P ). Sabres Historical: Atlantic Division: Eastern Conference: Playoffs: All charts are net of 93-point pace, except Playoffs, which is net of 8th place. Updated: 3/7
  21. I was seriously considering a Girgensons' jersey next, but O'Reilly is making a strong case for himself.
  22. Speaking of Rand Paul, am I the only one who thinks of Martin Short every time I see him?
  23. Vader's air neck pinch ... "I find your lack of faith disturbing ..." Aforementioned ... "these aren't the droids we're looking for ... move along, move along." Luke air choking the Gammorean guards at the gate of Jabba palace. Luke controlling Bib Fortuna into calling him a Jedi Master, who must be aloud to speak ... "You weak minded fool!" Subsequent failed attempt to control Jabba ... "Ho-ho-ho, your Jedi mind tricks won't work on me, boy" (Side note: it's great how not only is "Jedi" still "Jedi" in Huttese, but the whole phrase "old Jedi mind trick" remains the same, as though there aren't Huttese words for "old", "mind" or "trick".) Plus, telekinetics: Obi-wan's noise down the hall to get the storm troopers away from the tractor beam control. Luke hanging upside-down on Hoth, pulling his lightsaber to him. Luke pulling the Gammorean Guard's blaster to him before falling down in the Rancor pit.
  24. As Joey from Friends would say ... fried, good ... duck, good ... breasts, good ...
  25. I would never flat-out accuse a player of tanking, but something about Moulson's play last year looked like he was thinking about the long game.
