  1. So there’s a difference between making an object bold or a different color and going in to change the templates. Changing the template is a bit of a pain. Not exactly knowing how the system changed under the hood, I don’t even know what I would be changing in the first place. with that said, right now I would be looking for icons to represent all of the different levels. Right now it’s a rocket ship for everything, but unfortunately I don’t know what a prospect or a fourth line icon looks like compared to a Hall of Fame icon.
  2. That sound could be turned off in your preferences.
  3. But seriously, even if the release says that they revamped a feature, they don’t tell you about the accompanying graphical design changes in the interface. You only learn about these things after installation.
  4. Despite no one bothering to ask why, I’ll answer the obvious question anyway. The change is a result of an update I did a couple days ago and in that update they revamped their awards system. Because of that, they changed the stock design template and right now there is a rocket ship as a generic icon for all levels. I was unaware that this would be changed and it will take time for me to customize it.
  5. Maybe the definition of meager escapes you. I was a youth hockey coach for a year. Let’s just leave it at that.
  6. Would including recent former Stanley Cup champion have been too generous to add? I mean if you’re going to denigrate his meager qualifications, at least be honest about what they are.
  7. Is he considered a top 20% guy in analytics?
  8. The redhead beat-boxing on the bottom right is intense. lol
  9. Since doubters routinely call analytics into question, who does the analytics crowd say they are in the top 20%, but really are are in the bottom 20% of the league? (and vice versa) Are the errors bars equal in each case? Who are we afraid that the nerds say 👍 but the doubters say 👎.
  10. It is absolutely fantastic.
  11. The best version of this song hands down:
  12. I am always skeptical of the fan assertion that a mystery team will give up exactly what we want to receive for the awful player we don’t want on our team.
  13. And will he receive a swift kick in the nuts if the perceived return isn’t there and he moves him anyway?
  14. I was just responding to the suggestion of taking Sam with Skinner looking through the lens of opportunity cost. The idea being you would have to provide a huge incentive to take on Skinner’s contract.
  15. I have never had anything like that show up in my feed. I use the iOS official Twitter app. Anything that is not in my feed is tagged as “promoted“ at the bottom of the tweet. Other than those tweets the only way for me to see some thing from someone that I do not follow is if I go to the search page. Which I should say lol because the first thing it shows is a basketball tweet and other than 538, there’s not a single thing I follow in this account that is basketball related.
  16. I imagine if you don’t follow anyone and you let Twitter randomly fill your feed then maybe this happens to a brand new user. But once you start following people that’s all you see - their tweets. If I am in an echo chamber it’s because I deliberately chose those people to form the chamber. Twitter has no say or sway in who is a member of my echo chamber. If you go into trending topics etc. yes this is true. I don’t think that’s how most people use Twitter though.
  17. The only tweets not in my feed are ads trying to sell me something.
  18. The problem is you’re not listening. You’ve always been able to view your tweets chronologically. therefore there is nothing to promote. Second, even if they were promoting tweets, they are just promoting tweets from people in your own feed. I have never ever ever ever seen a random tweet from someone I didn’t follow (or they retweeted) show in my feed because of an algorithm. It doesn’t happen.
  19. Trust me, I am well versed in social media, algorithms, etc.… The problem is what you said regarding Twitter is objectively false.
  20. If you’re talking about Twitter algorithms then you’re doing it wrong (although they announce some changes this week). My feed consists of only those people I follow, and it is displayed in chronological order. Other than the ads they put, what does this mystery algorithm have to do with what I’m seeing? It’s not like I get done reading a tweet and they’re suggesting a new one for me to read like watching a YouTube video.
  21. My unvaccinated sister brought home Covid to her unvaccinated husband and he died on Monday. BIG former guy supporter. Connoisseur of disinformation. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. (condolences are unnecessary. I never met the guy and i’m not super close with this sibling from a previous marriage.)
