Canuck fans are rabid. Car horns all over at 11 pm. The flags are wavin'. I'm amazed they came back. Lindholm shows his value in the post season more and more. Now that is a team that plugged their roster holes well.

The Sabres should trade the 11th overall pick in the 2024 draft

I don't agree. At this point I think you tweak your BPA list a little - A LITTLE - for need. Especially if free agents don't want to come here (the old debate) and you run into too many NTC players you can't trade for. So for example if the BPA is a small speedy winger from Sweden and 3 or 4 slots down is a big prairie workhorse who checks well and likes to scrap a little you say no thank you to the Swede. To the depth comment, yes. - Today

I agree with both assessment’s

Great game by the smucks. The German fella was hurtin all game. Big Z is having a heck of a playoffs so far. Did McJesus have any shots on goal ?

Man, we got channel 4 and 7 good 99% of the time, channel 2 was fuzzy but manageable. Maybe one day a month we got channel 29 (fox). Back when you adjusted tracking on the VCR and got penalized for not rewinding

I am totally on board with your thing about the fallibility of scouting. Just look at that 2019 draft and the hit and miss of the way players went off the board. The Flyers being absolutely furious when Bobby Sanguinetti was snatched up the pick before their’s leaving a befuddled Bob Clarke unsure of who the next guy on their list was. After checking their notes, they took Claude Giroux. I think there’s an untold story about the Sabres busting their ***** to trade up for a defenceman last year, only to have it fall apart late. In the meantime another player fell into their laps in Benson, who will probably turn out to be a much better player than the guy they were trying to move up for. The Bruins didn’t pick Marchand in the 3rd round because they were smart. That same staff took Yuri Alexandro’s 34 picks earlier and Zach Hamill top 10 a year later. You can tilt your odds, but so much of the draft is a total crapshoot.

The Sabres should trade the 11th overall pick in the 2024 draft

The ROSTER should be BPA. if a kid is good enough he can force his way on outright. I wasn’t saying “kids as depth” i was saying “don’t be afraid to assemble nhl depth” as it helps withstand injuries -
If there’s a team that would prove BPA the rule it’s buffalo by taking an offensively focused D-man when we already have two #1 overalls on the roster and a #3 overall on the roster in the same mold. I wouldn’t do it but it would be gutsy

Neither is Georgiev. I think Pasta was just trying to show he wasn't intimidated. I think it was no big deal.

What I took from it was you saw young kids as depth and I'm saying that guys who aren't ready aren't depth. You are better off with journeymen and marginal vets. -
I hate Marchand but he put a nice check on that douche Tkachuk. Tkachuk and Pasta fought late which I have no idea what Pasta was thinking. My guess is the NY Rangers vs Colorado for the Cup. Skinner isn’t that good!

When your prospect pool is small or empty you draft BPA all the way. When you have a full prospect pool you project your needs both now and future and you tweak your draft in the direction of need(s). That doesn't mean you go way off book and draft the first D man ranked 20 when you pick 10th or anything (as a hypothetical example) but you lean to need. If players you like fall you do what must be done and take them regardless (eg. Benson). and you ALWAYS pick a goalie in a low round every year.

Nugent Hopkins hit the post and then 2 quick ones, Edmonton can't win unless they get a ton of PP time.

The Avs did say they figured at the time they signed him to his 2nd contract, they’d be trading him before he signed his 3rd. Would they have been better off bypassing him for the next best player on their list back in 2019? Maybe not if you think his presence was important to their cup in 2022 Certainly not if that player was Alex Turcotte. If that player was Dylan Cozens?

Since I’m in Vegas and get to see a lot of West Coast teams, what’s gonna kill the Oilers is their goaltending. Skinner isn’t that good. Way too much hype.

Yes. Nothing I said was even disagreeing with that. My post was about having nhl depth -

You need depth players that can actually play in the NHL and not cost you. This goes back to what I was saying about Rochester and too many kids and not enough veterans. -
What goonery did the Bruins do? I didn't see any. Frederic is exactly the type of player the Sabres need.

I don’t understand but whatever. cutting to the chase - my point was that I agree with your entire paragraph I would get the jersey 100% -
