Are there major changes coming this summer and who will make them?

Buffalo is always the most active in the off season, since their off season starts earlier than any other teams. -

There's no way that they won't be active. The pressure has built to the point that even if the GM was reluctant to make moves, he will take action because he knows that not doing so puts him in jeopardy. There is no way that this is going to be a status quo offseason. There has been a lot of rumblings about the Sabres having dialogues with a lot of teams. That shouldn't be a surprise because this is the period of time where are all organizations are checking each other out. I have said it before, but I strongly believe that a priority has to be the goalie position, and another will be reworking the blue line. Will there be deals involving some of our young wingers? I believe so. If I had to guess I would put my money on JJP being moved. I'm glad Keka has been added to the staff to provide KA a sounding board during this critical period. We shall see. -

Highly unlikely (he's there at 9) at this stage. I question his overall skill set but a 25g, 25a guy who hits everything isn't bad at all. Or he's gonna continue to improve his skills and he's actually a 35g, 45a wrecking ball. Or... he ends up a 3rd/4th line roll player with heavy hits.

"Every meeting is usually the same, they ask the exact same questions.". Carter Bear. How dare KA and Pegula talk about Penn State and not just keep it like Bear's experience. Scumbags. Am I doing this right?
-
I see no way Martin is there at 9
-
I'd probably list the Sabres targets in no particular order as Martin, Mrtka, Smith, Bear, Carbonneau, O'Brien, Lakovic and McQueen. I think they'll shy away from Eklund and the rest of Hagens, Misa, Martone, Desnoyer, Frondell, Schaefer will be long gone.
-
Should look at Mrtka too. I don't love him but it's not unreasonable to take him at 9. My issue isn't him so much as I believe in most drafts I can get a tall defender with his offense in the teens or later most years. It's more about the value you're getting at 9. But again a 6'5" rhd is going to look very attractive to Buffalo.

The next Hagel. -
I trust your evaluation so much, now I do too. I believe you may have mentioned Bear before we started passing teams in the standings and I think I liked what I read. I'll spend more time on these two for sure now. Took me a minute to get over myself.

Interesting. Anyone I know that fishes the bar goes to target Lake Trout.

It's a shame it won't happen. But this is exactly the high priced asst HC you bring in at a time like this. Lindy fails, he steps in. Lindy does well, he gets hired somewhere else as a HC - OR - Lindy retires/gets an office position and he becomes our HC. It's a great move from an improvement/insurance perspective. This is an asst HC you over pay for.

Buffalo is active right now because it is hosting the Combine. Show me, Darth Pegulas. Show me. -
The important thing to remember, from one of the Sabres promo season videos or interviews, I think…. Is that Ruff initially declined the job. But he got convinced by Pegula. Adams was all set to promote Appert, also sans interviews, apparently. If the owner, allegedly your buddy off the ice, says he’s got a 2-year gig for you so you can evaluate the team, it’s pretty easy for you to take the assistant coaches under contract and evaluate them as well. Because you got hired and told what to do directly by the owner. Ruff is 100% complicit in last year’s opening roster, staff, and the resultant garbage. He could have put his foot down upon hiring and brought in a real staff. He did not.

And it should be noted that the self-proclaimed largest walleye in the world is in Rush, MN. It’s supposedly 2,000 pounds and was caught by Paul Bunyan. And is made of fiberglass. For some… delicious… reason, walleye got stocked in the Columbia River, so you can get tasty walleye in Eastern Washington, west of the Rockies. It doesn’t make it to the Seattle restaurants, but it’s there, just a few hours east. Was Leino the original plan? Or the locker room and HarborCenter?

The lack of vision started with the original plan…….

We’ve been paying for our lack of vision for at least 8 of the last 14 years.

Directly into the lineup for game 3. Three assists in the win, feeding Draisaitl, Kane, and Skinner for the game-winner. That’s how it’s done. -

Well we now know Edmonton will win the Stanley Cup, that's how it works doesn't it? -
I'm from Ontario, and no one in the Golden Horseshoe would on this side of the border would ever target walleye in Lake O to the point it would be a talking point in an interview. In the eastern part of the lake in some of the bays... maybe, but thats not really a popular spot for lake houses for people from around here. For sure he's on Erie somewhere in the Port Maitland area. Doesn't matter anyways. Lindy's under contract for another year... I just posted it because I like Muddy the Mudcat!

Yeah hardly...I moved out at 18 when I went to college and have been on my own since, well with my wife and family for the past 20+ years technically. And I am definitely a physical specimen. Don't see many guys at age 50 walking around with abs looking like a linebacker. Darien Lake water park days are always fun. 😏 Sabres have had nothing for 14 years now. Maybe one day...

Hence why its doom. He’s too parochial to be aware there is another lake in Ontario that is a Great Lake (ffs) and has both walleyes and salmon.. It even says ONTARIO in the name.
