  1. Past hour
  2. I think the cap went up, free agency dried up, and teams are still in that area of "cap isn't going up" They psyched themselves out
  3. I’m just teasing you, relax im not saying you are defending Adams. I definitely do disagree with you that Norris isn’t viewed as the key “addition”, though, along with Kesselring I can only see a whopping level of faith in the lad when I look at the F group and the lack of moves and also the subtraction there we saw
  4. He comes from good pedigree. His pops averaged 3 goals a season for 16 years. Dude must have been the booger sugar hook up or something. He’s was considered a defensive forward FWIW. Hard to fathom for someone taken 3rd overall.
  5. No dispute over the track records. I’m not sure what you mean by “get there” you expect a majority of the teams below the Sabres to be close to the cap when all is said and done come October? I honestly don’t see how that’s possible. The figure might be dated but Allan Walsh recently said there is $275M left under the cap. Puckpedia says there are 29 roster spots left to fill. That’s nearly $10M per roster spot. The shopping aisles are empty. Teams have room but no one to spend it on.
  6. This didn't even start with you. I listed what we added, that's it. Has nothing to do with you. You then went on a rant about how 2022 Cozens was being replaced by 2025 Norris and I'm guessing that doesn't move the needle for you. There's a bunch of Adams hate in there as though I'm defending in and now it's "oh you're only posting to contradict me" lol
  7. Ya the last time we eclipsed 90 points. Where exactly are you getting lost, here? Presumably the goal is to field a team that’s actually good Isn’t Norris supposed to be our 2C, at LEAST next season? He sure as hell *better* be a key addition dude or we ain’t making any noise It’s not even a matter of opinion - Norris being a key addition is functionally worked into any success of Adams’ plan Your stance is bizarre You get too hung up trying to contradict me for sport and it gets you into trouble
  8. Again, I'm not predicting playoffs. I'm not defending Adams. I'm just saying there's been a few moves.
  9. Cozens hasn't played well in 2 full years. Norris isn't the key addition. He's just one of the additions and arguing he's not is bizarre.
  10. Interesting that they go into the February break with a Florida roadie, and come out of the break with another Florida roadie.
  11. What has this organization done previously to please the fans?
  12. So why are they playing there at 16 or 17?
  13. The reason for that is intrinsic to the player We were a bad team when cozens was playing well, I do find it funny everyone forgets that. The idea of replacing cozens is to re-establish what we had there when he was GOOD - that’s what we need at 2C. Norris being marginally better than a poorly performing player doesn’t get us anywhere, and even this is no guarantee as he struggles to get on the ice at all Being like, “Norris represents the avenue for improvement at F we need if everything goes right with him” DOES sound like Adams and it’s why many called that as the “key” addition at F its possible. It’s not likely but it’s possible, and it’s Adams, very Adams It’s pretty safe to say I think a big part of the reason we’ve seen so little at F *is* because KA has a lot of faith in Norris. We’ll see if he can catch and eclipse the poor Cozens, first, then we’ll have to see if we can make some ground in bridging the gap to the 2C play and improvement we actually need.
  14. Ya I counted Kesselring but people didn’t mean trade a better player for a weaker one when they said change. We can be nice and call it an even swap- we still haven’t done anything to improve Norris was a member of the team last year - a good way to make the playoffs would be to pencil in what we got from him and build from there rather than counting on an unknown disclaimer being I know they won’t do that
  15. This will be a tougher Sabres team to play. We all said they were soft like baby powder. If you can't add name offensive players because they won't play for you, then become that team that other teams hate to face.
  16. I don't agree. Kesselring, Norris, Lyon, and potentially Doan fit the category. Lyon is going to play 35+games.
  17. Almost all fringe, par for the course tweaks on the edges of the line up every roster is mandated to go through every offseason that will have little to zero affect on results. When people say “change”, the connotation is “change that matters”. Changing the strength and conditioning coach doesn’t matter, either the only real impact addition was Kesselring, and he came at the price of a better player. So, one key change element, but zero key improvement elements =very little change. Because again, people aren’t referring to 4th liners and 13th forwards and backup journeymen goaltenders when they say “change” As predicted, Norris will be sold as the offseason addition
  18. The jets spend every year, they’ll get there before the season starts as will most of these teams. We are the ones with the track record to not
  19. Today
  20. Yeah, pretty much where I am. We traded a young, potentially dynamic top-6 scoring forward for a very solid defenseman and a bottom-6 forward "grinder" with limited offensive upside. Made a lateral move in net. A couple of other minor moves. The weeeeee bit of hope I'm holding out is that Byram will play inspired hockey as his deal walks him to UFA. Hopefully Kesselring upgrades the D core enough that it's now at least above average. If these moves improve the defense enough, maybe we get better goalie play. Losing Peterka hurts offensively, but we still have some good offensive players. TNT must stay healthy...Tuch, too. If Norris stays healthy he's a pretty large upgrade on Cozens both ways. Hopefully Quinn takes a step forward...achilles injuries can take a while to recover from. 2024/25 MacLeod needs to be who he is. Hopefully Benson advances offensively in year 3. That's a lot of "hopefully", but that's where we are. Nothing concrete, just "hopefully"...much like the last 3 years. I've said multiple times in recent weeks that we need a GM with BALLS. Adams seems to have accepted that Buffalo is not an attractive destination, so he settles for these smaller moves and just hopes "his guys" improve. We need a GM that doesn't accept that Buffalo isn't an attractive destination and will go out and TRY to make bold moves.
  21. Out from Buffalo: Cozens, Peterka, Clifton, Lafferty, JBD, Reimer In for Buffalo: Norris, Kesselring, Doan, Timmins, Danforth, Lyon And Kulich and Benson are a year older. I'm not saying we'll make the playoffs, but I don't agree that we only marginally tweaked the roster. We brought in 2 new defenders, 1 top 4. We added a top 6 forward. We added a 3rd line forward. We added a 4th line forward. We added a new gt. I do agree it looks even on paper and I put us at only 85pts but we've done quite a bit to this roster since March. I think our piss poor coaching is the Achilles heel.
  22. If you feel offended I apologize. I didn’t intend it to make you upset.
  23. 8 Thursdays including the season opener and the only home game in February. 5 Mondays. 6 Tuesdays (3 of those in March). 6 Wednesdays. 4 Fridays (only 1 of which falls after the calendar flips). 10 Saturdays. 2 Sundays.
  24. 4 home games in 7 days November 17 - 23 5 home games in 8 days with btb in the middle of that Jan 10 - 17 5 home games in 8 days w/ btb to start it off March 7 - 14 and ending with 4 home games w/ btb in the middle of it from March 25 - 31. Don't know what the STHers did to piss them off, but they clearly aren't happy with us. This schedule stinks for out of towners. Guess either relatives will go to a lot of games or will be selling a lot.
