At this point I would like to see what Levi can do at the NHL level... He will be 24 at the halfway point... I know there is a development contingent out there... but, how much longer before you see what you have at the big level... I have no problem signing Riemer... thats fine, but ultimately, I dont think Riemer or UPL get us to the promised land.. I clearly could listen to the argument... well lets get better on Defense and find out... ok.. but does that happen? If so, maybe minds change... but everything constant... Levi to me is our best hope to improve our goaltending situation... I am not saying he will he may make it worse... I dont know... but I would like to find out.... UPL is who he is... .898 sv% 3.06 GA in the league for 5 years... 3 of them as a workhorse... he is pretty average stat wise... is he really really going breakout .... is think he is who he is.... Reimer is who he is.... I dont see them drastically upping their game... so who provides that chance... to me its Levi...

I like Kyrou and straight up would be a good trade but it would cause some logistic issues or maybe solve a problem. Kyrou is a right shot right wing player. Although Peterka is listed at a right winger he most often plays left and has a left handed shot. If you get Kyrou he is probably taking over for Quinn which I am all for but the loss of Peterka now leaves a hole at left wing. You are left with Zucker, Benson and Greenway. Norris or Kulich could go to the left wing and maybe that is the answer. Thompson centering Kyrou would be a formidable combination.

Ya Nashville has said they are okay being bad and taking a step back to get better in the long run unfortunatley there roster just isn’t good and most of the big name guys have no move clauses L’Heureux would be an amazing pick up! I’d probably want at least Lauzon as well for the back end, he led the nhl in hits multiple years, and then what about ROR he is the only vet that doesn’t have a no move and would balance cap slightly I would personally be totally fine with him coming back for that hybrid 2/3 center between him and Mcloed we still would have a gaping hole on the defense beside Power, because even if we did get Lauzon he is best as a 5/6

I just don't want him traded, I want him signed long term.
-
Personally, I want someone like Greig back in a Peterka trade. Someone young enough to fit the group but with snarl and edge to his game. We need our own Marchand. Another rat type player I'm a fan of is L'Heureux. Not as a complete one-for-one acquisition but players with bite and edge.

I'm always kind to people who can kill me.

Vorhees, a jolly good fellow...

It doesn't matter because he kills his competitors. So the job opening will still be available to him.

The way you describe Kyrou's style of play it seems similar to JJP's game. If that's the case, then it would make more sense to stick with the younger player who has shown scoring prowess with more potential to tap. Peterka has gotten enough playing time where he's not a young player trying to find his game. No question that he needs to improve on the defensive side of the game, as do most young players. Is he willing and have the desire to do so? I don't know. Is he determined to be somewhere else? I don't know. But if he's still receptive to being here then maybe the best approach is to give him a bridge deal as @Brawndo recommended.
-
Oh, is his save percentage better than Levi's?

He's Jason. He stars in the movie "Friday the 13". https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080761/?ref_=ls_t_1

Who dat?

A city with no navel. (I'm borrowing what Brendan Behan once said about L.A.)

I cheer for a team that has not made the playoffs in 14 years therefore I will not complain about any player being a non playoff performer until the Sabres qualify. Kyrou was second on the team in scoring, he would have been second on the Sabres as well. In terms of his two way game, only Dylan Holloway had better defensive metrics amongst their top six forwards per Evolving Hockey and he did lead the Blues with a +23. Kyrou was in the 72nd percentile while JJP was in the 2nd percentile this past season. In full disclosure Kyrou was in the 24th percentile for his 23 year old season. Still the most likely scenario is JJP signs a two year bridge deal with Buffalo.

Chad D: expect a Byram trade at or around the draft
Flashsabre replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
Canucks insiders saying Canucks trying to get Byram. I’ll say it again: Norris Byram, UPL, prospect for EP40 , Demko, Marcus Petterson 😁😛 I know it’s crazy. There is a ton of smoke between the Canucks wanting Byram and trying to acquire Norris at the deadline that I’d be surprised if some deal between the two teams doesn’t happen. What it ends up looking like I have no idea. -
Are there major changes coming this summer and who will make them?

I’m with ya, but I’m not in charge. I actually believe EP, if he comes out flat again, could very well become one of the biggest busts of all time. I really think he is the type that is happy to play and the results don’t concern him. -

No interest in Petersson with his contract and potential head space issues. -
For us he came out of college, was expected to be in the AHL, played his way onto a bad team. playing regular top 9 minutes, there were few of us hoping he would stick around.
-
Yeah man. There are levels. You’re operating on levels I don’t occupy but can dimly perceive.

If that ever happens, that team would be dead to me. I might actually hope they achieve an even more incredible level of incompetency....if that is even possible.

We could start a " Time To Trade ____ " thread and drop 16 different names... We're not even close to being a playoff team now. Hopefully, The new advisor will stab Adams with a poison dart a week before FA and the draft.. I have dreams..

The Canucks may be a good trading partner. They need to keep Quinn Hughes happy and he’s buds with Norris. If Petersson is still available is that something Buffalo considers? Norris and another piece could make that happen? Just pure speculation of course. -
JJ doesn’t have much leverage. If he wants out that’s fine but the way I see it is, he’s Sabres property and they own his rights for two more years. He can sign a bridge deal and keep proving his worth. But he still has to perform or he won’t get more down the road. If he’s traded and it’s an even swap or upgrade where needed that’s fine too. If he offer sheeted and signs it, he better hope it’s for the over $9 million per otherwise we will just match it and he’s here longer. I would hope we can tell him he’s not going anywhere and he keeps getting better. But he’s in no position to dictate things. I’m rambling but if we don’t want to move him and he’s that unhappy then he can hold out and we can just sit him. Play hardball. It does him no good to sulk. We can’t just farm out players as they start hitting their stride.

Marchand and Bennett have been so clutch. Just laying out every shift.
