Nothing to do with Mrtka, but really hoping Leone leap frogs Appert in the succession planning. Not positive Leone will be great at the next level, but it's possible. Appert is clueless.

I’m totally cool with KA taking a swing on a random unproven goalie from someone else’s organization. It’s a smart move. The reward potential far outweighs the risk here. This team should do it every season or draft one goalie every year. They are bound to luck out at some point.

Pens started two teenagers on defense and a new goalie and shut out Rangers. Are Rangers that bad or have Pens found some magic? Let's hope the Rangers don't find their scoring touch in our home opener. Sabres need to play that tight defensive game and have our scorer deliver timely scoring.

I also cant understand the logic when your 3 toughest players are Greenway Kesserling and Geertsen, and you will be playing a pissed of Rangers team that will have Rempe playing, and two of those 3 are injured....you dont put Geertsen in?
