  3. The Trump Budget Bill seeks to destroy public education by creating a tax shelter for capital gains and funneling tax money to private schools that can reject students they don't want. The end result will be even more severely underfunded public schools that are basically segregated. https://www.npr.org/2025/05/23/nx-s1-5397175/trump-federal-voucher-private-school
  4. No I mean bringing Wilford back as defensive coach again
  5. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cn8z174gk3jo The King will be opening the Canadian parliament, something no monarch has done since the 50s. The speech will cement Great Britain's commitment to Canada remaining a free and sovereign nation.
  6. Not much Liiga, mostly with the national teams. I don't think Liiga is good enough nowadays to form players straight to NHLers, there are too many teams there and not enough players to keep up the speed during games. As you wrote, Helenius played hockey with men as very young, he was good enough to take a spot on a top line, good for him. On the other hand there are young players that become Liiga players but there are a lot to still be developed in their game. Now Liiga is not a development league, those young players are learned how to manage and survive, to adapt to tactics so they can be a cost effecient solution, when they should be working on skating and such things.
  7. I live in Panther country. Absolutely amazing how this team has turned around the past several years. They’ve spent a lot of time on the fan experience as well. The arena is in a beautiful area and is very affordable to go to games. We went to a few playoff games last year and the crowd was as passionate as anywhere else. Great time. Ofc they get heat they have no fans but it’s not true. They were just in a ten year period of horrible hockey like we are now… and nobody goes to Buffalo games and it’s a crappy dead arena and fan experience. Going to be quite difficult to turn the Sabres around.
  8. Edmonton has won 5 of 6 periods so far. Seems to be a much better team. Probably wins this series in 6.
  9. Rock/paper/scissors through the portal of time.
  10. Which would be fine if the coach had been willing to play them together at the beginning and ending of the season and if the GM hadn't already locked up Power to an $8M+ deal with a redundant skill set. You can always bridge him and hope that he doesn't get a(n internal) cap-wrecking offer sheet that allows sufficient money remaining for the guy to play with Power.
  11. 13 goals allowed in 4 games is not a hot goalie
  12. Did you watch Helenius in Liiga? Fully agree. There's a lot they can learn and even if it's 3yrs in the A, that's only 21yrs old for Helenius.
  13. Today
  14. Yep agree - his confidence in Bryson makes no sense. Who cares if “the locker room really likes him,” If he sucks. Im assuming you mean Clifton, who also sucks
  15. The problem is we have had the same issue on the backend and in net for Adams entire tenure and he hasn’t proven once that he knows how to identify it or fix it. The Bring Everyone Back philosophy is his go to move. When he still has confidence in Wilford and Bryson what does it matter what other moves he tries?
  16. Agree. No need to rush players to a already young roster. Let them play in the AHL as long as needed. Better they have to fight to earn it and them being that sick and tired of playing in AHL, that they are doing everything they can to get to stay when they get the call.
  17. I left out that they tried to trip him when he’d move away from them🤦🏻‍♂️. The guy who’s name starts with an X
  18. Such as? What do other teams have that we're missing? I don't think facilities being Vegas new or Detroit new is the biggest selling point. If it were free agents would never sign in some places.
  19. One thing about Helenius and Novikov, both played in pro leagues before Rochester. They've got more experience than your average AHL player. Novikov is in his 4th pro season and turns 22 in July. He's the perfect 6th defender, big, mean, defensively sound.
  20. The facilities in Buffalo are ok, good enough, but they are falling way behind in the 'wow' factor compared to what other teams have. And again, in a salary cap league where you have limited funding, those Buffalo facilities are 'nice enough' if you are here, but they are not going to win out over a lot of what other teams are doing.
  21. Helenius is at least another year away if not 2. Novikov... depends on his short area burst. He'll need the agility and closing burst to be nhl effective. I haven't watched enough Amerks to answer if he is.
  22. The Sabres have pretty decent facilities and that's not counting having harbor center. Also Rasmus' Wagoneer is nice. What's interesting is there's an interview with Zucker where he basically shoots down the narrative players think Buffalo is a bad org.
  23. If the organization can get it together and be a relevant team this would be an appealing destination for a lot of players, of course not all. One of the biggest advantages that Buffalo has is its proximity to southern Ontario and Toronto, an area where many players come from and reside in the offseason. Right now, our reputation for dysfunction is deeply ingrained and acknowledged in the hockey world. The only way that this accurate perception is going to change is for this franchise to be run more professionally. The owner has to show more urgency that he will do what he has to do to turn things around and make this franchise more appealing.
  24. Hell he has to climb over Ryan Johnson first according to KA and about everyone else in the Org.
  25. Idk his value but maybe Rosen? Devils have rhd up the wazoo and maybe they want some depth scoring? My first thought.
  26. I'm with you on not giving up on Samuelsson. There's no question that he has struggled and not played up to his prematurely rewarded contract. But as you point out, it's not unusual for it to take time for defenseman to find their game. He's had to contend with a series of injuries that have set him back. I thought when paired with Dahlin at the end of the season that he played solidly and consistently. He's a target of scorn because he didn't intervene on a Dahlin hit. He was internally held to account and seemed to be chastened after that. I'm not sure what pairing he will be slotted in but I do see him maturing and finding a role suitable for his style of play that relies on skating and moving the puck forward. He's not a banger and never will be. He needs to be placed in a role that is in accordance to his best assets, not his worst assets.
  27. Here is Dahlin giving a tour of the Sabres Facility to a member of the Swedish Media https://youtu.be/s86np1JWqww?si=wO_nAF_DjkV90A1j
